has anyone used both and is willing to share their thoughts on the pluses and minuses as compared to each other?

I believe when I checked specs the kifaru was lighter. I could use more info, thanks.

Haven’t used a slick bag. Own a few Wiggy’s I use for wet winter camping and early canoe trips right after ice out. Pretty bombproof, but heavy and bulky. Wouldn’t want to pack them into backcountry.

I’ve got both, and Orion’s brother nailed it. The wiggies have pretty dense, heavy insulation. The slick bags are lighter and more packable. I like the center zip on the slick bag better than the side zip. If I’m packing it in, the slick bag usually comes. If it is going to be real cold, like sub zero, and I’m not going in far, the wiggies comes.

I’ve got the long/wide slick bag and it seems quite a bit longer than my regular length wiggies. I don’t have any experience with the long wiggies. I’m 6’0”, and the regular wiggies fits about exactly as it should. The long wide slick bag has lots more room inside.

Are the same temp rated bags about the same warmth?

for pieced together reference, i have a regular slick bag that fits me perfect with ample room, i'm 6' and about 175lbs

Same feelings here regarding packability of the two.
I can't compare warmth since my slick bag is 20 degree and my Wiggy's Ultralite is 0 degrees. I got my Wiggy's in a long/wide version and it is HUGE. I wish I had gotten the wide/regular length instead.
Edit:
My Kifaru is wide/regular and I like its sizing.

wiggys ultralight is a 20° bag.

I am 6' 180# and my wiggys are long/wide and they are just right for me.....regular length bags seem too short after using the wiggys for a while.

I’ve used a Wiggy’s Super Light with the overbag camping on the ice while ice fishing without a heater or stove at -24* and stayed toasty.

My buddy had punched a hole to jig inside the shelter. That open, for a while, source of moisture combined with our breath made for some crazy hoar frost when we woke up.

Great bags if they’re in a sled or canoe, with shorter portages, but not ideal for packing.

What’s your intended use?

bulletproof bag for all uses. Warm when wet, I already have a wiggy overbag, ultralight and superlight. I was hoping to do as good but lighter/more packable....I think wiggys are about ten degrees overrated. Zero bag good for 10 above, for warm sleeping but the long/wide has good room for a quilt or layers.....

On an elk hunt in WY, my older buddy was ill prepared for cold weather. I foresaw that and since we were baee camping, I brought extra gear. I set him up with my overbag and an EE quilt over the top. The mix and match worked very well.

Maybe a Slick bag coupled with a quilt could offer an answer for colder temps than the Slick bag can sustain and give you great versatility for other situations.

You are correct. I have the Super Light.
