Why shouldn’t I get the Trijicon TenMile?

I don't get passionate about much, but I am a huge fan of the Tenmile. Is the reticle my absolute favorite? No, but it has never got in the way. I went through too many scopes looking for one with acceptable brightness, clarity, and most importantly, holds zero. I've posted about it in the Long Range Hunting forum, but I am very impressed with my Tenmile. It's been rock solid and very functional.

Yeah I’ve been on the hunt for something to replace my Mark 5HD and wanted something lighter than 27oz. Didn’t think a reliable scope in those categories existed but here I am, finding out that they were pretty affordable a few months ago. 😞

totally agree - it's my "default" or "standard" now when setting up a new rifle... have one sitting waiting for a donor rifle. I like my NX8 a little more, but it's also a little heavier and cost a fair bit more. Tenmile is a fantastic aiming device.

I have the Tenmile HX FFP scope on my main rifle. I am currently building a second rifle. I don't really have any complaints about it. Is there a reason to try something else in the next price range up? Zero Compromise? Other suggestions?

The rifle with the Tenmile is more western open sage type rifle and the new rifle is folding stock, shorter barrel timber style rifle. Should I go SFP and 50mm on it?

Or put the 3-18 on the timber rifle and get a Trijicon 5-25 FFP for the longer range rifle?

Thanks!

Seems like overkill for a timber rifle. I use sfp for my short-range rifle since I'm usually at lowest magnification and not using reticle holdovers.

Just to clarify…backpacking trips in the west chasing elk. So close shots, and across valley shots, etc.

But the more you think about it…not looking through a scope much anymore. Between binos and spotter, probably better to put the money there as long as the scope tracks well and stays zero’s being banged around.
