Speaking of cliff tested packs, I had to cliff test mine one night. I was racing darkness to get through a band of cliffs with a load of bear meat. I took the wrong route and didn’t want to climb back up, so I dropped my MR Beartooth off a cliff. I failed to stick the landing so it went another cliff or two before it stopped. It survived.I didn’t miss cliff tested packs though.
Many forums are built on over focus issues and a good dose of anxiety. When something doesn’t match a person’s view of reality it does strange things to humans. *chuckle*
^^ This. The most difficult thing for a human to do, is see reality as it actually is.
The other big factor is that as humans, part of our baseline code is to be hyper-territorial tribalistic murder monkeys. People wrap up their identity around their gear choices, and fly that as a flag of tribal affiliation. They experience critique of that gear as a painful hit to their personal identity - like you're calling them a lesser person, with evidence.
Then they and the others in their tribe witnessing it get all tribal and murder-monkey, with the internet version of that being forum dumpster fires.
Or a Fierce with no rifling in the barrel? There we go guys, sounds like we just need to start suggesting no sights. Bare barrel only.
We already established that bare barrels only would not be feasible due to the potential for barrels to be bent so we all agreed that the only solution at this point is to give up hunting altogether.Or a Fierce with no rifling in the barrel?
I'll just road hunt with my truck...using the GMC as the projectile. Any recommendations on the best "cow catcher" front bumper, as the old folks called them? Now that I'm an old folk, I don't know what they are called. We already established that bare barrels only would not be feasible due to the potential for barrels to be bent so we all agreed that the only solution at this point is to give up hunting altogether.
I believe you have to call them off-road body armor now - it’s a system so we’re supposed to balance the front bumper, undercarriage protection, body panel protection and rear bumper. *chuckle*I'll just road hunt with my truck...using the GMC as the projectile. Honestly I think your username is the Band Name and that should be the Album Title:“hyper-territorial tribalistic murder monkeys”
dibs on that band name
I looked into them at one point but due to the inability for someone to effectively provide any statically relevant results due to the number of variables. I also decided to just not buy one as I couldn't trust anything or anyone that posted anything.I'll just road hunt with my truck...using the GMC as the projectile. Agreed. Most of my surrounding hunters use Vortex scopes, shoot their rifle 2-10 shots a year, and swear by Vortex. I killed 8 Vortex scopes in 3 years. Drank the kool-aid and bought 4 different models. The original 4 and their replacements failed. Sold all 4 of the second round of replacements prior to opening the boxes. Yeah I'm probably clumsier than any of them, but learned to not buy Vortex scopes. If one understands the difference between objective information and subjective information, one would also understand why the above quote is completely and totally wrong.
Has the truck been drop tested though......I'll just road hunt with my truck...using the GMC as the projectile. Any recommendations on the best "cow catcher" front bumper, as the old folks called them? Now that I'm an old folk, I don't know what they are called.
Dropped off in plenty of mud holes in the 25 years I've had her. Jumped terraces hundreds of times also. Maybe thousands.Has the truck been drop tested though......
Should probably use a pinto it's the 223 of the road hunting world just alittle less damage then your truck yet just as effectiveI'll just road hunt with my truck...using the GMC as the projectile. Didn't think about that. Maybe I'll see if I can buy my old mid 80s Honda CRX back.Should probably use a pinto it's the 223 of the road hunting world just alittle less damage then your truck yet just as effective
Smoke test that puppy!!!Customer on car lot “Can we take it out for a test drive?”
Salesman “Why yes of course!”
Customer purposely hits a parked car and airbags deploy
Salesman “Why in the world did you do that? Are you nuts?”
Customer “No, I’m a disciple of Form’s drop test on Rok Slide.”
