Why cant people accept the fact that some people dont need a drop tested scope?

Speaking of cliff tested packs, I had to cliff test mine one night. I was racing darkness to get through a band of cliffs with a load of bear meat. I took the wrong route and didn’t want to climb back up, so I dropped my MR Beartooth off a cliff. I failed to stick the landing so it went another cliff or two before it stopped. It survived.

Many forums are built on over focus issues and a good dose of anxiety. When something doesn’t match a person’s view of reality it does strange things to humans. *chuckle*

^^ This. The most difficult thing for a human to do, is see reality as it actually is.

The other big factor is that as humans, part of our baseline code is to be hyper-territorial tribalistic murder monkeys. People wrap up their identity around their gear choices, and fly that as a flag of tribal affiliation. They experience critique of that gear as a painful hit to their personal identity - like you're calling them a lesser person, with evidence.

Then they and the others in their tribe witnessing it get all tribal and murder-monkey, with the internet version of that being forum dumpster fires.

We already established that bare barrels only would not be feasible due to the potential for barrels to be bent so we all agreed that the only solution at this point is to give up hunting altogether.

I believe you have to call them off-road body armor now - it’s a system so we’re supposed to balance the front bumper, undercarriage protection, body panel protection and rear bumper. *chuckle*

I looked into them at one point but due to the inability for someone to effectively provide any statically relevant results due to the number of variables. I also decided to just not buy one as I couldn't trust anything or anyone that posted anything.

Agreed. Most of my surrounding hunters use Vortex scopes, shoot their rifle 2-10 shots a year, and swear by Vortex. I killed 8 Vortex scopes in 3 years. Drank the kool-aid and bought 4 different models. The original 4 and their replacements failed. Sold all 4 of the second round of replacements prior to opening the boxes. Yeah I'm probably clumsier than any of them, but learned to not buy Vortex scopes.
