I think my issue was that for 90% of the questions I slid the bar way left to the "I don't give a #$%" side of the scale.

I guess that make me agreeable :)

I took this a while back and confirmed I'm a political basket case..........
98% Carlson
97% Sanders
96% Trump

I did this about 3 weeks ago and got a similar result, I was shocked Bernie was so high on mine. Hillary was very near the bottom at like 40% for me, thankfully.

I did a lot of thinking about this and this about sums up my political thinking. I think I have a lot in common with my generation (I'm 28), and the optimistic side of me hopes we can change politics over the next couple decades:

-Don't waste my tax money. Build infrastructure and support those who truly need it. Don't let the super rich or corporations skirt taxes.

-Use regulation to protect the greater good, not to play nanny or choose winners

-Don't get us into unnecessary wars playing world police or protecting corporate interests. Your job is to protect the homeland.

-Do whatever you want socially, marry your brother for all I care, just stay out of my business and I'll stay out of yours

-Don't try take my guns before you address systemic violence problems the media doesn't want to talk about (namely horrendous parenting and denial of mental illness)

-Keep wild land and the natural resources on them in the public trust, because the private interests cannot be trusted to conserve for future generations. I have rights, but the yet unborn generations have rights also.

-Borders, I am conflicted on, I do believe immigration is a large part of what makes us great. It feeds the American competitive spirit. However, see above re: protecting the homeland. If immigrants from a certain area endanger that, safety trumps.

The problem is, I actually think, which I am convinced 95% of Americans are no longer capable of. I really don't fall into any political party. Our system is broken.

...Don't let the super rich or corporations skirt taxes.

It needs to be repeated often so people are given a chance to let it sink in -- corporations do not pay taxes. Consumers pay taxes. A tax on a corporation is a tax on the consumer. Corporations are not in business for benevolence. They're in it to make money. I'm employed by one, and I'm grateful that it does indeed make money. My paycheck depends on it.

Learn it, live it, love it.
