I finally got around to shooting my Tikka 300WSM w/ Nomad suppresser, and to my disappointment I couldn’t see my impacts. Is this just the way it’s gonna be with all 300s or if I add some weight will I be able to see impacts? I don’t want to add a break to the suppresser because I wanna keep it DT to use in my other rifles.

Opinions/ideas?

Even with good form and suppressor, seeing your impact will be tough with a 300. There is a reason the PRS guys shoot lower recoil and high ballistic cartridges.

Do you still have the factory Tikka stock on the rifle. Tikkas are known to have a very low comb. The first thing I would do is try and build up the height on the stock. If that doesnt work a new stock may be on order.

Still factory, which stock would you recommend? I'd be willing to add a pound or so.

You could put a Kydex adjustable cheek riser on the stock you have and that'll help with any cheek weld issues but depending on which Tikka model you have, some of them are very light, spotting your shots could be a challenge in a 300 WSM.

In my opinion there are two I would be looking at. The Manners EH1-TK on the XLR Element 3.0/4.0. Both stocks are build correct and can have or do have adjustments to get you exactly where you need it. Both are pricy, but really good.

I currently have the EH1 on a tikka I had build and like it.

Dead air makes an E-brake for the end of the suppressor that helps with recoil a good bit, it screws into the end cap threads so it doesn't change your mounting system.

Step 1: look up snipershide on YouTube and watch Frank’s recoil management videos.

Step 2 (if you want):

Unless your scope is mounted sky high, you don’t need a cheek riser. A cheek pad that has spacers, like the triad tactical, will help greatly. It will increase comfort behind the gun, and bump you up a little higher. Weighs about 8oz.

Thank you for all the suggestions and feedback. I'll research it all. Looking forward to watching the video.
