I like both! I've even Euro'd some then mounted them when I had the funds later. Right now I'm about 60% Euros/ 50% shoulder mounts.

Hey thanks for stopping by! I’ve never thought to do that before. Gotta say lots of hunters have shared some pretty dam good ideas and insight! It would be cool to see your collection given the bucks you’ve been able to kill. Enjoyed the podcast you did with Aaron Snyder. Thanks for your input man.

I love taxidermy work but to many with out the proper space to display them makes it look cluttered. I've went to euro's now for the space savings and I do enjoy handling them now and again. I'm looking into building a antler tree. Some cool ideas on here thanks

Gotta vote for Euro for antlers and save full body for bobcat on mantle or some teal.

Love the wood knot hole and corner idea!!!

Finishing up garage reno and stole this guys cheapo DIY euro mount idea with some super easy controllable accent lights to install. Still work in progress...on collecting more mounts!

I did a few Euros last year. I think they turn out well.
I dont necessarily like one more then the other.
Just different ideas for different critters. Funds and mostly room.

And yes a mount can be redone. Take it to quality taxi.
Most likely your will need a new cape. But I would imagine it depends on what exactly was wrong and how he mounted it.

My son killed this unique bull elk a few years ago. I cut off the antlers and sent them in to get freeze dried.
Then re-attached them to the skull.

None of the pics came out on my end. But thank you for sharing. I’m sure they will load later. Haha******nevermind they came through. The elk look great! One day brother one day haha. Never seen a turkey done before. That’s pretty cool

Great job on those. It takes time to make them look as good as that. I love euros, and I think that a lot of people here are like-minded in the fact that we enjoy doing things ourselves. From planning, scouting, and equiping ourselves. To killing, packing out, and processing our game. Being able to do my own mounts really brings it full circle for me.

Hey man thank you for the compliment! Yes it really does bring things full circle. I think it really intensifies the appreciation I have for the animals I’ve taken. Thank you again brother.

A well done euro is much classier and timeless than a shoulder mount. I had a friend who was a PH in Kenya, then Botswana for over 50 years...his ONLY mount was a buffalo skull next to his front door. Timeless...

I have not had a shoulder mount done since 2015, all euros for me! I have to many shoulder mounts at this point so until I get a dedicated building to store/showcase them, I'll keep doing the euro mounts.
