.338 Jarrett for elk, moose and bears. .375HH for bears
..30/06 for deers and elk. Hell until about 5 years ago the 06 was my light rifle. But I’ve seen the light.
338 Jarrett!?
What bullet are you using?

Would you share a picture of the rifle?
I just got all tingly.

Most times I grab the plain old boring 308 and suppressor.

Shooting 168 Accubond LR bullets.

Close 2nd choice is 260 Ackley with 140 Bergers.

I have several but two of my favorites are: ( I do not reload so all factory ammo)
1. Weatherby .257 with 110 Accubonds
2. .308 with Barnes 150 TTSX BT

I used a Marlin 30-30 shooting Remington Kit-loks for years, then I moved to a 30-06 in Win model 70, with 165 gr Barnes. Last few years I’ve shot my 300 WM with 180 gr Barnes hand loads. I know it’s way more than I need, but it’s just such a sweet shooting gun. Though I’ll still carry the old 30-30 if I’m way back in the woods.

6mm Remington is one of my favorites loaded with an 87gr Berger HVLD...works really good for deer.. I have a 260 Remington loaded with 125gr partitions I've been playing with that I plan on using this season...

.22lr is probably my favorite as it's inexpensive, low impact and just plain fun.

For hunting, .308 win

257 Weatherby is my new favorite. I mainly used a 30-06 for years but the 257 is nasty.

You'll have fun with a 357 mag lever - can shoot 38 specials out of em too. Don't overthink the process, just start looking.

Love my little '94 Trapper as a deer rifle. What kinda load are you shooting? Might work up a load with Barnes here this winter
