Favorite .270 Bullets?

I have always had good luck with H4831sc and 130 SST on deer. My current load is with Berger classic hunter in 140 and H4831sc. Played with RL26 and that gave me more velocity then 4831 but with it being unicorn dust, I stick with H4831.

130gr Sierra gameking over imr 4350 has been a great load in many 270s that I’ve loaded for. Accurate and very deadly.

Oh, and about 20 elk with the 130 partition, out to 519 yards.

I have the same gun/ caliber. I’m not exactly a gun nut, but my Dad is lol! He reloads for me and I’ve had great results with 145 gr. Hornady ELDX. Very accurate out to 600 and have shot a number of critters from elk to coyotes with good results.

Wasn’t much of a gun nut myself until about two years ago. Once you start theres no going back lol

I just picked up a new Tikka T3X chambered in .270 Win. Will be shooting hand loads. Primarily for whitetails anywhere from 50-300 yards being the typical range. Also plan on going out west with it in the future for some mule deer hunts (hopefully). I currently have some 140gr Sierra TGK’s, but am wondering what other bullets others have had good success with or enjoy?

I am using the same exact rifle here in Idaho. Started out using the 140 Bergers but they weren’t expending enough as I wanted on my black bears. Switched to 145 Hornady ELDx and have had good success with that. Have taken Black bear, mule deer, whitetail, and bull elk with it and never had to shoot them a second time.

For deer and a lot of other stuff the 150 gr Ballistic Tip, for big animals I like the old school 160 gr Partition. Tons of great 270 bullets out there though.

Lots of options out there. They will all kill deer if you do your job.

For over 40 years, it has been a 140 gr Hornady Interloc BTSP in front of a some IMR 4350 and win primers. It has taken 3 species of deer, moose, elk, mt goats, sheep and bears with out any issues. Have tried the 130 GMX, 130 TTSX, 140 TSX and 140 Accubonds and always go back to the old Hornady.
