What would be the best way to go about getting into Sheep hunting in 2025, assuming you were starting out fresh today?

if it is helping the habitat and sheep population why not for the ones that can ... seeing the big biz jets at our airport during hunting season i will say there are more than a few that can afford it ...
I don't have a problem with it at all for the few tags like it.

finding an home is really the hardest part the rest is only one year waiting to reach the official resident status here ...
I think the OP could live in AB for 6 months and be ready to hunt as a resident

Come to the edmonton area OP let's go lol

Haha I’ve been trying to convince the wife to Move to AB for YEARS.

How does it work for you? OTC for ewes and draws/points for trophy sheep? (rams).

How hard is it for a local to draw a trophy sheep tag? Is it a 20-30 year venture?

Its the opposite. There are a good amount of zones you can buy a trophy sheep general tag valid usually from Aug 25 to Oct 31. Ewes are on draw and some trophy sheep zones are 20 year draws. Some guys will do the math and say you'll never draw if you start today but those boomers gotta die some day.

Just wanted to say that a funny thing has happened, I’ve done a complete 180 on the Dall sheep.

Used to view them as the 4th sheep, the least appealing.

Today I can’t get over how amazing looking they look, that white goat and the terrain they are found in really stands out from the rest.

Really enjoying all the hunt photos of guys that have harvested a Dall this year.
