This was my first two groups of the year at 40 yards today. Luckily, I’ve got 2 months to tighten the groups up.

Shot off my deck tonight the back yard drops like an egg shell down to a creek; was able to work 20 & 35 yards. Trying to imitate slope the best I know how.

Supposed to cool off finally tomorrow & I’ll see if I can’t stretch it out a bit further.

I made a written list of Plan A, B, C, D, E, F and G for spots I'll plan to hunt. Then, I checked in with the wife about my hunting schedule for August/September. Bow is tuned and crushing, so I'm shooting fewer arrows but higher quality shots with a pack on, kneeling, field positions, etc.

Ya, fewer high quality shots here as well. Bino harness, mask, gloves, hat.

Need to figure out a tape to use to quiet down some contact points.

Been shooting every day.

I usually take one cold shot in the morning before work then think about that shot all day. Shoot a little more when I get home from work, then usually I will switch gears to something else. I’ll take one more “cold” shot at last light before I go in for the evening.

Lately I’ve been shooting at various unknown distances with a set pin yardage to work on judging yardage and adjusting my pin float above or below impact point as if the animal took a step or two closer/further etc.

Example would be to put my slider at 50 yards and shoot somewhere around 20 as if the animal became visible closer than I expected or whatever other endless option of things that can happen in the woods.

Good luck to everyone!

What did I do? Suffered through one more day of godforsaken heat and humidity, and I'm about to hit the stadium bleachers with my wife. Three months to go still for me... I'll ramp up my bleachers and add some weight when it cools down a touch.

Snapped my sight, waiting on replacement. Upgraded to the latest and greatest from my old Cobra and wala......

Sometimes I think too much is "Too Much". Something to be said about simple.
30 yards, FP and BH. Needed to shift it a bit and over tightened sight. At least I know arrows are flying good.

I’m behind but have 3 weeks to sort things out. Got a new Mathews V3 31 and had some difficulty getting it tuned. Just went in this morning after re-zeroing the rest to factory and had the top hats worked on, changed the peep (raised and lowered anchor) and in 1 1/2 hours had it shooting straight. After it cools off this evening I’ll work on re-zeroing at 20 and work out from there. Feeling much better about it now though and my old XTec can likely be put on reserve.

Confirmed my broadhead tuning with both my heavy (520gr) and light (439gr) arrows out to 30 yards, which is the limit in my back yard. Just chasing pigs and deer this year, so I’m still undecided on which ones I’ll use. I’ll try to test them both out at longer ranges this weekend and see if that settles it.
