What did you do in the reloading room today?

Loaded up a ladder for my 7 SAUM
N560 & Berger 168s

Also broke the casting on my RCBS benchtop primer. Fairly new too, less than 500 cases primed with it.

Loaded a batch of 50 7x57 - Norma brass, 45.5 grains of N555, 175 Hornady ELD-X, 3.235 OAL (yes, my rifle has a deeep throat, why do you ask?), CCI BR2 primers, neck sized in a Lee Collet die. 35 out of 50 came out with +/- .001 runout, the other 15 came out with approx .003-.005 runout (trash talk them Lee Collets all you want, nothing else I've ever used comes close in terms of runout). These are just 'stupid accurate' in my gun (tested again at the range today).

Also loaded a batch of 10 7mm-08, Norma 308 brass, 42 grains of Varget, 140 Sierra Tipped Game King/TGK/GameChanger, 2.8-ish OAL (I say "ish" because these 140 TGK's have a ton of variance - CBTO is +/- .003 or so, actual OAL varies by as much as .012), sized and seated with RCBS. Runout for 7 of them was under .005, the other 3 were over .010 (looked like bananas when I spun them in the runout gauge, LOL). Lee Collet die for 7mm-08 arrives today, we'll see if the next batch isn't closer to straight. Accuracy was only so-so at the range, but velocity was both good (2850) and near zero ES/SD.

I bought a bunch of Leverevolution for my 30-30... I realize it's going to be a while before I burn through a jug with my 30-30, so I loaded up some 25 gr, 73 eld-m in .223 and 44 gr, 180 sierra RN in my .308.

Excited to see how it goes. I've been reading that it's similar to CFE22. I reached out to Hodgson for load data and they said they have some agreement with Hornady they cannot publish load data for it unless the Leverevolution outperforms other options - something along those lines. Kind of frustrating, but I trust I'll figure out some loads that are good enough for practice.

Both of these are recipes others have mentioned online and we can always trust load data we find online - right ;)

Loaded up 50x (25 firsts, 25 seconds) 6.5CM 129gr ABLR w/ 41.0gr H4350.

Gonna run some hunting scenario shooting this weekend in-between scouting for muleys.

Loaded up another 20 7mm-08's - 140 TGK, 42 grains of Varget, 2.82 OAL, Norma 308 brass (sized to 7mm-08 and fire-formed previously, neck-sized in a Lee collet), WLR primers. Will be The Big Deal(tm) accuracy test for my Tikka 7mm-08 post-surgery (free floating, degreasing, removing oil film between stock and action, proper torquing action secrews).

Seated first rounds on the Nexus, very enjoyable to use. Loaded up some trial rounds for my 338WM, H4350, with 210gr & 220gr HHT, and 200gr TBT, weather dependent I’ll get them tested tomorrow.

Loaded the last of my .308 165 Tipped Game Kings over 8208. My Roughtech loves these things and they are a hammer on game. For whatever reason they are unobtanium right now, but I did manage to get my hands on some of the 168 TMKs Sierra is producing for the Federal T308T load. Looking foreward to seeing how they shoot image.jpg

Loaded a seating depth test of 160gr accubonds for my 7mag. The accuracy has never been exceptional(Christensen) with anything except the LRX but I prefer lead. Will likely get rebarreled this winter and may switch it over to 7prc to give the long heavies a shot.

Ive missed a few updates here but I've switched to H4831sc on my 7prc.

First ladder was good but too hot for consistency.

The second ladder was great.
From that ladder I loaded 6 groups of 3 expecting a very flat waterline and it didnt disappoint.

Im very pleased with this aggregate.
That's likely a 4 inch group at 300 for 18 shots and .8 spread in powder.

That's a 1 inch dot for reference.

Loaded up a pressure test for my 7mm-08 with H4350 and R16 for 160 Accubonds. If I can get even close to 2700 sanely in the Tikka, this may be my winner (hoping)
Follow up - weirdness.

44 grains was 2528 FPS. 44.7 was 2668 (wow, that's a lot of jump for .7 grains), and 45.5 was 2707. Both 44.7 and 45.5 seemed a bit hot.

Also ran 44 and 44.7 of R16 ... And got a velocity spread of 14 FPS (2594 and 2608), but lowish pressure, def room to go up there.

My target velocity is (ideally) 2700, but I'd take anything over 2650 if the accuracy is there.

Gonna try Ramshot Hunter also in this experiment.

Loaded 7mm-08 today.
120gr NBT at 2.796 COL
45grn Varget
Nosler brass
Fed. 210
My usual deer load for a Remington Model Seven. Shoots 1/2 to 5/8" in my rifle at 3012 fps.
