What calibers have you used?

Yea, my 7 mag... I killed one deer with it, and sold it to a nephew. He killed one deer with it, and sold it to another nephew. He killed one deer with it, and I have no idea where it went from there.

Damn thing kicked like a mule!! The last time I shot it from a bench, I shot a dime sized group. But it had to go!!
I sold it before I received my education from the 223 thread and learned all that recoil is completely unnecessary. The kick wasn’t worth the “whollop” I thought I was getting and it turns out all I was really getting was crappy groups and a sore shoulder.

Not an incredibly exciting list but:
.22 lr
12 gauge ( various loads of buckshot)
.54 cal. Blackpowder
.270 & .300 win mag for most
7mm/08
30/30
6.5 Creed

We need the ski-doo story!
We were riding on a stretch of river in MN. Came around a bend doing about 75, there's 15-20 deer RIGHT there. All I could do was mash the brake and duck. Smoked a yearling, it went over my head, taking out my windshield and bouncing my helmet off the handlebar riser. Broke three of it's legs and most of it's ribs. Luckily buddy had a carry gun with and we could put it down. By the time we got permission to retrieve it as a road kill and rode back down there, the coyotes had it half gone.

I'll participate, but I'm going to add the model firearm too:

.270 Win
- father's Remington 700 (I own but leave at my mom's). Killed my first two deer with it at age 9.
- maternal grandfather's Pre-64 Winchester Model 70 (my uncle now owns)
- my Remington 700 given to me by paternal grandmother for Christmas (after my grandfather passed). LOTS OF DEER HAVE DIED BY THIS GUN. Killed a 120 lb doe with it this season after not hunting with it for a while

30-30
- Marlin 336 that my parent's gave me for Christmas when I was in college
- my sister's Marlin 336 that my uncle gave her when she got interested in hunting
- Remington 788 that above uncle found and my mom gave to me for Christmas in Vet School. My uncle collects this model and I believe has all available calibers it was chambered for.

.308 Winchester
- Browning X-bolt Hunter that I won at DU Sponsor Dinner in 2018. $350 well spent. Had to replace original stock after it cracked, got it Cerakoted at same time and I had it threaded this past Summer. Main deer hunting rifle for the last 7 seasons
- Unknown model Bergara of my uncle's this past season. 10 point buck at 30 yards. It was topped off with an old 3-9 Redfield scope, approximately 60 years old, of my maternal grandfather's. Grandaddy thought it was trashed and my uncle sent off to be refurbished. My uncle killed a couple of does at approximately 200 yards this season with same rifle.

Not much variety with calibers, but with a few different rifles. I have lost count of how many deer I've killed since I was 9. I will turn 39 in August and I lost count of how many white tail deer I've killed past 75 animals. I would guess I'm around 120-150.

Five does and a buck this season, all in Alabama. One doe with the .270, 4 does with my .308, and a buck with my uncle's .308 Bergara.

Lots of memories for sure. Just can't remember all of the does I've killed over the years.

I'm an old geezer. All of my hunting buddies were older than I am. They are all now too dead to hunt or shoot. Having seen, in every case, their guns and other equipment considered burdensome, useless junk by surviving family, I didn't want my wife to be saddled with the burden of getting rid of what was an embarrassingly large gun collection, so I liquidated it myself over a five-year span, with the goal of having ONE rifle, ONE shotgun, ONE recreational handgun, and ONE CCW pistol.

Rifle: Home-assembled AR-15 A4 style in 5.56 NATO and (inherited) Remington 740 BDL in .308 Winchester

Shotgun: Superposed 28 gauge Yildiz Legacy HP and (inherited) A y A No. 2 Side Lock in 28 gauge.

Recreational Handgun: ,22 LR / .22 WMR 6.5" Heritage Rough Rider single-action and (inherited) Ruger Mark 1 Target, Ruger Redhawk .44 Magnum, and Beretta 92F

EDC: Bersa .380 ACP
