What’s you’re draw weight vs Age

Ill be 46 here in a month.

Ive been shooting 70 lbs since I was in my teens. I have some nerve damage in my shoulder and neck and it just couldnt handle more than a half dozen shots at 70 anymore.

So last year I dropped to 65 and am thinking of dropping to 60!

A 60 lb can do what a 70 could just 15 years ago!

I’ve just recently got back into bow hunting at 39. I noticed pulling 70lbs is a little different now lol. Plan on getting back into my weights and making that pull more manageable with practice and weight lifting. Really wanting the extra velocity/energy on my elk hunt this year. As long as I can comfortably draw 70 I won’t drop down, but time will tell…

My question is. What is your age and how much weight do you draw?

39/70lbs
27 yo pulling 80lbs. Have to with my short 27 in DL

38, 52lb recurve. Compounds were 80 and 70. Still have a 70lb switchback xt but have zero desire to use a compound, haven’t really hunted with one much the last 10 years.

Seeing what a recurve does to deer, pigs, elk etc, idk if I would ever go higher then 60lbs with a modern compound even at my short 26 inch draw length.

They are so efficient, 60lbs will work for almsot anything these days imo.
