I find it kind of interesting that they have these huge lines here for testing, cars in line for as far as you can see. Sick or not sick, waiting in line would be the last place I'd want to be. If I was healthy enough to get into the car to go wait for a test, I certainly wouldn't be wasting my time in line waiting for a test. And if I was on my death bed I'd either already be in the hospital or dying at home.

How many here have ever gone in for a flu test? I don't understand the fascination with knowing that you absolutely have a specific virus instead of some other virus. If you get sick, assume you have it and stay home.

Are they doing general testing now in Co? Wasn’t aware any place was doing that yet.

You are comparing direct patient contact with walking through Walmart. They are two different animals. Those HCP are also wearing gowns and following hygiene protocols. If you aren't doing the same and decontaminating upon arrival home the mask does minimal good. Not because it doesn't serve a purpose, but because the purpose it serves doesn't corelate with your level of risk.

Gown, mask, goggles, gloves. Remove gown with gloves, goggles, hand hygiene, remove mask. That will do you some good. Putting on a mask and feeling like you are doing yourself some good isn't wrong, it's just one piece of a puzzle nobody is finishing. The best thing about a mask for the average person is it keeps you from touching your face.
Some of the people were supposed to be listening to seem to slowly be changing their stance, if it will stop a sick person from putting it in the air it will keep a healthy person from inhaling it.....3 points of entry...mouth, nose will be covered, that only leaves the eyes......and we all are washing our hands more, I’m not wearing one but safety precautions are nothing to argue with when things seem to be going down the drain Slowly https://www.yahoo.com/news/masks-re...hing-up-to-the-changing-advice-222618518.html

Only with a Dr's note. Heck, just seeing the lines for those with a Dr's note I can't imagine what it would be like if they opened it up to anyone and everyone........gridlock. The best part.......over 90% of those tested are NEGATIVE. My goodness, if you're sick just stay home.

Kind of ironic that those most fearful of getting it are flocking to the one spot where they are probably most likely to find someone with the virus....LOL.

Did you read that article? I don't think it says what you think it does. Not surprising for a Yahoo article that the actual information doesn't match the title.

I think there will be a nationwide mandatory lock down/shelter in place starting next week, maybe announced Saturday.
Trump is not playing and even some of his democrat critics have praised his response. I am just glad that he won the 2016 election because we need a decisive and strong leader right now. It seems that once he realizes something is a problem and focuses on it he really gets chit done. If the national death rate is kept minimal here compared to other nations I think he locks up November...if he can hold the economy together between now and then, clear thinking people cannot blame him for the markets reactions.
I am done second guessing what seemed to me to be drastic measures to curb this thing, reflected on this/thought it thru and decided to fully back my Presidents response to this issue. I am ready to hunker down and ride out the storm here while wishing for the best possible result for our nation under the circumstances. Hope ya'll stay safe and God Bless America. 🇺🇸
I hate to fuel speculation and tinfoil hat type info. Butttt, on my way home yesterday at a major intersection at the edge of town a ton of road cones have been set up on the edge of the road. Enough to block all incoming traffic. Two things stick out at this spot. Last year they rebuilt that whole intersection, so the whole area is brand new. The other is this intersection is the first spot where two exits from the interstate cross.

I believe any sane person that drives through there daily would think something is up or my tinfoil hat is on to tight.

My wife didn't get assigned any of the three quarantined patients in her hospital this morning. I texted her to just go hug on them and get it over with while the hospital has the resources to take care of her.

My issue is, we’re trying to take this seriously. Then on the news there’s footage of the beaches in Florida packed with spring beakers. Clear Water said they’d close the beaches......next Monday.
If this is so bad and we have to avoid groups of 10 or more, WTH is spring break still going on? I know, MONEY.

I have been using the site below to watch the numbers.

I just toggle between the two tabs (U.S. Status and Global Status). Nothing fancy just straight numbers which is easy to take in quickly. Sorry if this has been posted already.

Welcome to the party.

It's good to see the MAGaverse is catching up too.

This isn't a Democrat or Republican problem. Nor a Chinese, Italian or American problem. This is going to affect all of us in some way. I'm hopeful that we'll all come out of this a little stronger and a lot less divided.

There was a young punk celebrating spring break in FL on our local news last night. "If I get coronavirus, I get it. I'm not gonna let it stop me from partying"......I about punched the ******* TV.
Told my wife that for the rest of my life, one of my job interview questions to any of the younger folks is going to be "What did you do, if anything, to celebrate 2020 spring break"?

The local testing is now 6 days behind in getting results out. They started testing a few weeks back and now the labs are apparently overwhelmed (atleast that's the reason they are giving)

Now if you go to the Hospital. You get put into a special waiting area if CV19 is suspected, with all the other folks who are coughing. They have started to triage people outside the hospital and the options are a) go sit in that room and wait b) go home and self quarantine for 14 days. Apparently most are choosing option B.

That's awesome. I'll add that to my other question I ask.... "Did you work with your father or grandfather, when you were growing up." If the answer is No, long term there has been a 100% fire rate. I can teach a skill set. I cant teach work ethic.

Your question will answer the same thing. Ethics.

Good info. You and I think alike. In Seattle they are at a 92.6% negative.

I hope a lesson learned for most is that health is not just something you focus on during a ******* pandemic and its something you try your best to maintain year round, i have read obesity has a huge role in the severity of symptoms, i went to our local health food store to pick up my families monthy vitamin regimen and to buy our fresh produce, all the produce still in good inventory while the boxed sugared out cereals completely gone, i found that ironic along with the fact all the vitamin c gummies were bought out... I guess thats the society we live in though, we dont think about those things until its staring us in the face

Not all millennials are viewing this as "Extended Spring Break 2020."

I was at Albertson's a couple days ago buying butter and baking powder (still trying to find flour though), and one of the checkers was introducing her brother to the Store Manager. She said he was in college but with school closed down he was home and wanted to work. The Store Manager asked him what he wanted to do, and he replied that it didn't matter and he would work anywhere. It literally seemed like he was just hired on the spot in the middle of the store. Good for him.

I don't know about everyone else, but I'm not sure how my 19 year old self would have acted. I'd like to think I would have gone to find work somewhere, but I can also see myself heading to wherever the party was to drink as many Keystones and Rainiers as possible and chase tail.

Whether they are working or at spring break, they are all probably ******* like rabbits right now.

Here in the Bay Area we are under a shelter in place order, and all those spring breakers are going to be allowed to travel back to where they came from with no oversight or testing.
