What 2-3 calibers would you pick?

My choices-
223/5.56 (though my 243 works here too)
280ai (also have a 270wsm)
300 win mag

At least this is what I have done to try and cover all of these options for me.

The ones I picked.
.243
6.5CM x2
7mm-08
.270
.300wsm
.375H&H mag
.458 wm
But who knows what the future will hold.

.22 lr, .30-06 and .375 h&h have been the guns I come back to more and more in my years of hunting across western Canada. .22 is a ruger 10/22, .30-06 is a kimber montana, and .375 is a custom remington 700 I built.

Elk/Moose: 338-06 or 300wm

Deer/Pronghorn: 260 or 284win

Plus a 223

I have a 300 and a 7-08. both tikkas.

Hoping the 300 looks like this some day..
XLR Element magnesium (if they’ll make a LA)
SWFA 5-20x50
Proof 1–10” 26” tube
APA Lil Bastard
LRI wrought iron bolt flute
Mtn tactical bottom metal and AICS mags
20moa rail
Atlas bipod
Rings TBD
Cerakote the action, bolt, bottom metal
Plus a sterk or Lumley bolt.

Would like to rechamber the 7-08 into a 284 win for nostalgias sake. Lightweight wildcat composite, shilen #2, lightweight leupy or swfa on top. Maybe give it the Luke midday treatment and drill holes in everything to shave .01 of ounces.

You forgot sheep and goat!

I’ve shot a sampling across that range with my Kimber 84M in 338 Fed.

But I have a Barrett Fieldcraft in 6.5 Creedmoor as well, and between the two I can hunt anything that doesn’t require a .375.

.223 AR - Any mid-grade or above factory rifle with a reputation for accurate barrels is fine. Varmints and plinking.

6.5 Creedmoor - Winchester Model 70 Extreme Weather. Deer, pronghorn, elk, moose, black bear, caribou, goats and sheep.

.338 Federal - Winchester Model 70 Extreme Weather (rebarreled). Thick woods elk or moose or anything where grizz are in the area.
