TIkka T3x lite/superlite/Ace Game?

I got a Superlite. I wont get one again. Its a great rifle, shoots great. IMO the weight savings does not outweigh the ability to shorten the barrel if you want.

Strange, I had a few super lites shortened and threaded with absolutely zero issues.

What sort of problems are you running into getting yours shortened? Or are you just making shit up in your head?

So ill admit that Im not very familiar with the rules and best practices. I have always assumed that since on every fluted barrel ive ever seen the fluting stops before the muzzle, therefore there was a reason for that, therefore fluted barrels *shouldnt* be cut.

I may just be ignorant.

Have a GOOD smith cut and thread and it’s zero issues with the factory D16 profile with flutes.

I prefer to have a shoulder added for 5/8 threads but 1/2 threads work just fine too.

Top barrel is factory Superlite. Second is Tikka factory lite contour from McGowen.

I prefer the lite barrel profile to the super lite profile.

If I were you, I would look at what EuroOptic has to offer. They have some great prices at the low end.
They are the same exact profile, they even the same exact barrel, one just has flutes.

You mentioned the Ace Game can fold down for fitting in a pack, I would just like to add that the Ace Game does not have a folding stock. I do believe you can take a bolt out the remove the stock but you would have to obviously reinstall the stock before you were to shoot an animal.

If you look close at the ace pics, there is no hinge on the stock. Never seen one IRL.
There isn't a hinge but there is a screw that attaches the butt stock to the chassis and you can pull it off but this requires tools so it would not be ideal for someone looking for a folder. Its only benefit is if you have a short travel case you could reduce the length by taking off the stock
