We need to educate and get out in front of this stuff!

Honestly asking though, is there really such a thing as humane dairy? I mean obviously it depends on who you ask. But I just started up with a local dairy here on the frontrange, and they have videos proudly showing how well they treat their cows, and it's basically the cows laying in a dirt lot all day except when they're hooked up to the machines 3 times a day for milking. If that's the good life I shudder to think what dairies are afraid to show. I'm all for pastured beef and seeing cows ranging in fields seems like a pretty good life to me, but I don't see how you can have cows living like that and be milking them.

Come here to California and I'll show you. They use UV lights to sanitize the meat instead of actually removing the manure from it. Gotta sick cow down that can no longer stand up? No prob...a tractor will get to the slaughtering house.

So we also are going to generalize a whole industry by your one experience? Slaughtering a down cow is illegal, so you're painting producers who do illegal things with the same brush as all others. Pretty much the same as saying poachers=hunters. Or maybe you don't see the difference there either?
