Warning about Silencer Central

Hello all,

After weeks of dealing with Silencer Central, I think it’s time I make sure folks considering them for a suppressor should be warned.

I went through the steps to get my Banish Gold 30 and once approved, received my unit. Unfortunately, no brakes were included which are required to use for attachment.

Called the company to be told they were back ordered. When I asked why they would just send a partial order, I was basically blown off.

I have since then sat on a useless $1,200 chunk of metal with zero resolution. I have called multiple times and each time given the same song and dance and guarantees that never materialize.

This will soon be going to a lawsuit to recover all of my funding unless they make this good.

Unfortunately, I hadn’t read the reviews which make it clear that this is an ongoing problem with this company. I was taken in by the hype of how easy they are to work with and all the benefits of dealing with them.

I can tell you that I personally would never consider them again for a purchase.

If you are considering their products, do yourself a favor and go through the reviews carefully. This is an ongoing issue and one they simply don’t consider to be worth addressing.

My suppressor took over six months to fulfill. There is simply no excuse for not having the brakes set aside that I had paid for in advance to be sent with my purchase.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. I might have an extra brake adapter for my Banish 30 Gold - which thread pattern do you need?

I've not messed with their large cans, but the Banish .223 on my Tikka is my favorite suppressed rifle to shoot. It's not a featherweight or dinky can, but it's impressively quiet. I've taken my 2.5-year-old daughter on prairie dog hunts, and she doesn't even look up when I shoot. I wish my father had suppressors for me when I learned to shoot and hunt.

You could literally do that with any silencer.

Hate the company all you want, but if the goal is to quiet a .223, I don't know if you can beat the Banish 223. According to Thunder Beast's 2024 Summit Sound Test, the Banish 223 was the quietest can tested on a 16-inch 5.56 AR. If there are any flaws with the can's design or construction, please let us know.

I wish I had the chance to mess with more large cans...

I’m in the market to buy a nice short lightweight hunting can. Mainly looking at the Nomad XC, Scythe Ti. Looked at the Backcountry because they sponsor every 2A guy on YouTube it seems. But after reading the reviews on their site and other places I’m giving it a hard no. Don’t understand how they sell cans and not have the mounts. Pretty sure I’m going with the scythe when Silencer shop gets it back in.
