Looking for a set of super warm mittens for late season hunting, ice fishing, and other general uses. I usually wear a handwarmer muff with a couple Hot Hands in it but occasionally need to have my hands out to carry stuff. What do you use? I've looked into the Sitka Blizzard GTX Mittens, anyone have experience with them?

I bought the SITKA Incinerator Flip Mitt this season and I am absolutely in love with them. They are pricey, but probably the most versatile, warmest gloves on the market. This is just my own opinion.

If you are around water and working, the joka therms (polar) mittens work well, but they aren't crazy warm (work well with a hand warmer in them). I have several pairs of Kuiu Superdown mittens and they are very warm, but not something I'd wear to do any meaningful work.

I don't like mitts that have a knitted cuff....much prefer mitts with a gauntlet type cuff that my coat sleeve slides into...... ala loose cork in a bottle

I like the Mt Baker mitts from Outdoor Research, I'm on my third pair (one set stolen at ski resort, second pair vanished without a trace). Fantastic set of mittens with a glove insert.

I just bought some Enlightened Equipment Stronghold Mittens. They have 4oz of APEX synthetic insulation and flip tops so I have full dexterity. I am really looking forward to getting them and trying them out, and with the synthetic insulation I won't have to baby them around water/rain/snow.

I’ve tried a bunch of different mitts. The Marmot 8000 Meter is one of the warmest I’ve tried. Pricey, but warm. Mountain Hardware Absolute Zero are also one of my favorites. As good as the Sitka Incinerator and Blizzard are (I wear them both plenty), they are no where near as warm as the Marmots or MH’s...

Timberline mittens from HIgh Plains Sheepskin are A-1 for warmth. Not great for tying on fish hooks.

I've heard these are extremely warm. Thinking about trying some of their gear.

I got some Cabela trans Alaskans in the cabelas bargain cave for 25 bucks. They are stupid warm. I’ve used them out in -40 temps and had warm hands.

I agree, these are warm, but dexterity is lacking. Made in Montana!

I've been using the Sitka mittens all late season so far and been nothing but happy. My hands get cold very easy and these are amazing. I've used them for November hunts here in Idaho and for long early morning boat rides chasing ducks. They are pricey but totally worth it.
