Went to the range this morning and shot from 200 to 805, no issues. I really love the reticle.

I’m just going to keep posting on this thread every time I shoot it.

I like that HSR reticle too, I HATED the g4 my HD LH had. I'm really on the edge with this scope, it seem to havea lot going for it but I don't know if I can trust a vortex product again.

Thanks for taking the time to share.

I am a fan of the G4 BDC on my 1.5-8 HD LH. Enough information to be a reference yet thick enough to see in the dark timber. I was disappointed to see it’s not an option on the 42mm version of the LHT. But the illumination might make it a non-issue. Is it easy enough to use in normal lighting with lots of branches/ timber?

My only reluctance is confidence in the erector system taking some bumps and falls. This LHT is basically between the SHV and NXS which are a proven rugged commodity.

What does this scope have that a Zeiss V4 doesn't have in the same price range or cheaper? Maybe better glass?

I had a v4 I liked, so I’ll try to compare it to my memories. I Am also considering buying a vx5hd to compare all 3...

personally, I think it’s going to have better glass and I think the locking turret will be nice for me, I spun my Zeiss more than once. It also had a very soft turret feel so I bet the razor is just as good we shall see. If the both are equally as robust I’d rather my warranty be with vortex than zeiss.

I’ve had issues with the V4 not holding zero on a magnum rifle.

What drives me crazy is the Vortex marketing machine. Everywhere I looked someone was pimping this scope online. No doubt they sold a lot of scopes today.

I’ve had this scope for two months ,it’s shot/tracked perfectly and I still don’t know what to think about it because of the scopes I’ve had from them in the past.

Agreed. Lots of hunting industry folks with a strong presence on the ‘gram acting pretty excited about this one..

If vortex gave you one to test and you’re still keeping it real like you have in this thread, thank you. It’s refreshing.

Things that make me poopy faced about this scope...
- SFP, no FFP option
- Illumination is the center dot only, I'd like to see more of the reticle lit up.
- 6 mil per rotation. They fit 10 mil per rotation in the gen 2 PST. This is nitpicking if the turret has the second (and third?) turn numbers marked. Using the MOA scope pictures as a go-by, looks like the mil turret should be similarly marked. ...4 5 6 (7) (8) (9)....

Things that make me smiley faced about this scope...
- Weight
- Price
- Reticle design, uncluttered but enough in there to be functional.

My biggest questions....
- Does it hold zero
- Does it track

Time will tell.

Yes, this is a test scope they sent me.

This scope is impressive to me on paper and so far on the range outside of the POI shift on the drop test. Which, I will try again next week and video it.

Looks like the G4 will be available: https://www.sportoptics.com/vortex-razor-lht-3-15-50-rzr-31503.aspx

FFP will add a little weight. Plus I don't see any downside to SFP in a scope with a max zoom range of 18x or lower because most LR hunting shots will take place on max zoom on 18x or less. Maybe FFP for comp shooting??

I don't trust a Zeiss either, or a leupold. Both make scopes with similar features but the reliability just hasn't been great for me.
At this point it's Nightforce or bust for me. Packing a rifle around for a month or more in the mountains each year, Nightforce is the only scope ive ever owned that is still dead nuts zeroed when I check after the season.

To each their own. I'm a fan of 8-12x for hunting shots, including longer ones. Every time I see/hear someone struggling to find an animal in the scope or shooting the wrong critter my immediate thought is that they were using too much magnification or haven't spent much time behind a rifle at longer ranges - likely both.

How much was the POI shift? Also curious about the Zeiss V4 experience you mention. I have one and it's been rock solid so far, albeit on a .308.

I agree with you there. Everyones a sniper on the internet but the shooting range sure was empty this morning and last week...

Just over an inch left at 100 yards.

We had the V4 on a 300 RUM +P every time I dialed out and back I had a POI on the 100 yard zero. On the 6CM I had no issues.

Looks like a winner on paper, but going to hold off for a while. These will most likely be hitting the classifieds in 6 months for $500 when the real (not paid for) reviews come out. Like many others, I would have one on order if it wasn’t for previous bad experiences with their scopes
