Specs look good but I'd prefer FFP with a 15x top end.

Wonder where they are made?

Edit - jmcmath beat me to it. I was hoping for AMGish turret feel, but you can't expect everything at this price point. Disappointing that it lost zero with the drop test too. It's worthless to me if it won't hold zero with mild shock.

The drop test makes me nervous. So this was a foot drop while mounted to a rifle? And the first one lost zero but then the next time didn’t?

Correct

Not too scientific but It can happen in the field. I can do it again and video it if you guys want me too. I got the Idea from form( a member on here) I use to hit them with a rubber mallet.

I believe you and it's very realistic. I've had my rifle leaned on a tree and slide off falling to the ground before. Hopefully it was a one off event, but I'll test mine when I get it.

sure I’d like to see it, all data is data

I’ll test mine too. I don’t plan to be gentle with it. If we can get a few people doing that for each scope it could build an interesting data set

I “test” mine as well. Sometimes a drop on the side or an open handed slap on the scope. Nothing crazy, but I want the confidence it’s up to the task. I commented elsewhere regarding a podcast where it was discussed that while I am very impressed with design, and the many nice-to-have features, they have no mention of the one and only requirement of any scope; retain zero in the field. As a consumer the single most important piece of information I can offer to a company is the reasoning as to why I either purchased or have not purchased their product. The only reason my credit card has not come out is I have no idea about how rugged the scope is and whether it was specifically designed to retain zero. Their marketing literature is typically an outline of the features they focused on in the design process. 30mm, light, zero-stop, etc. They do mention shockproof, but that’s mentioned on every scope. I‘m open to learning more though, because I like the rest of what I see. Convince me.

Darn I wish I could trust a vortex scope. This is everything I want in a scope but I just won't risk it.

Same here. I really want to like this scope but can’t bring myself to trust a Vortex.

I'd like to try one but I want to read some long(er) term reviews from a bunch of people first. I had an HD LH and it seemed good but the g4 reticle was very hard to use and the scope did go tits up on me so I'm pretty sour on vortex.

Its reviews like this that make me hesitant to go back to a Vortex. I still own a few Leupolds and hold my breath from year to year!😂

What drives me crazy is the Vortex marketing machine. Everywhere I looked someone was pimping this scope online. No doubt they sold a lot of scopes today.

I’ve had this scope for two months ,it’s shot/tracked perfectly and I still don’t know what to think about it because of the scopes I’ve had from them in the past.

very true, it’s often hard to find a real review of a vortex product.

with that said I jumped in because it was good timing for a rifle I’ve got coming and I got a good price. Further, their Japanese stuff is usually good quality, as the Japanese makers are the ones building it really with companies just picking parts and they generally build good quality scopes. Had this been a Viper I wouldn’t have jumped.

Waiting to see a review from someone who actually paid for the scope, no doubt there will be pro-staffer type reviews all over the place in the coming weeks.

What does this scope have that a Zeiss V4 doesn't have in the same price range or cheaper? Maybe better glass?
