personally I want quieter than a scythe at a minimum.
So what you are using that is less than 128dB at the ear?
10/22 with .22LR subs through a OCL Titanium22...![]()

Raptor 10 with up to a 5” reflex is an option already on the market if that’s is your goal.I’d love a quiet OTB option and am willing to pay a few ounces for it.
Agreed. Just a 3D printed ScytheHurry up and bring the 6", 9oz can to market. Might be one of the best selling cans on the market.
I haven’t measured, but I have an OCL Polonium 556 and Banish 30 Gold that are much quieter than my Banish Backcountry which I believe is on par with a scythe. Just ordered a big ol Hydrogen L 6.5 that will be manageable on my 16-17” rifles.
I’ll probably pick up a Mach S or hydrogen S soon for the 18” rifles.
I’d love a quiet OTB option and am willing to pay a few ounces for it. Seems like everyone online is veal team 6, 10 miles deep ultra lightweight forest operator. I’m just a dude that goes maybe a few miles in if I’m honest and mostly hunts with my kids. I feel like statistically I’m on the far edge of Joe average Hunter, but too old to pretend I’m that dialed in anymore. I want a setup built for comfort, not speed but that’s just me.
Again, interesting to see new stuff out there.
I’ve shot in this horseshoe shaped bowl/canyon for thousands and thousand of rounds. Shots from 100 yards all the way out to a mile. @hereinazI shot the OG on my 14” 22 creed for the first time today.
Gotta say I like it a lot. Overall length of the rifle is 38”. With “in the ear pro”, it sounded more thumpy than anything. It was a thump and then the crack. Hard to explain but it was excellent. I have the Ultra 7, DD Wolf Hunter, and YHM Nitro 30 as comparison.
I will be hunting exclusively with OG suppressors. I have the OG-L in order as well for my carbon fiber barrels. The OTB is the primary factor, the sound is a nice bonus.
Also, I think it may have improved the groups, but the sample is small.
I will let @mxgsfmdpx speak for himself, but here is a quick video of the pure joy of shooting the rifle with OG suppressor.
That video made @Q_Sertorius ears ring lol
Great report! Only question is about the balance point. I thought I read earlier that because it is heavier, it doesn’t reduce the balance length compared to something like an Ultra 7 or Scythe. Since you’ve got all of them, it would be awesome to test!Shot the OG for the first time this morning. We brought a scythe, gen 1 ultra 5, and the OG. Next time I’ll bring my wolf hunter and ultra 7. We shot them on a 6.5PRC, 6.5CM, and 22CM. My buddy and I both really liked how it preformed on the creeds. It’s was still good on the PRC but seemed to start to come into its own on the smaller cartridges. In order of loudness the scythe was the quietest, then the OG, and last the ultra 5. The tone was definitely noticeable across all rifles used and we kept referring to it as more “dead” sounding. It definitely didn’t have the crack that many suppressors are known for. It also had less sound getting kicked back off the rock face we were shooting into as well. We found a ditch that was behind a small finger ridge about 115y out front and 50 yards to the side of the rifle. We took turns laying in the ditch and shooting. We both thought the OG sounded like a 22lr at that position. My buddies first words out of the ditch were “it sounded like a cap gun”. The OG made all the guns balance and feel better in hand.
If someone is looking for the absolute quietest suppressor the OG isn’t the one to buy. If you’re looking for a suppressor that’s hearing safe, with a unique (in a good way) tone, that makes your rifle balance better then I’d definitely think about the OG. Especially if you’re running a creed or smaller.
Side note. I have tinnitus in my left ear and some suppressors, like the ultra 5, make it ring more after a shot with no ear pro. The OG did NOT make my ears rings at all after 2 shots with no ear pro. I know you shouldn’t shoot at the range without ear pro but I always test a suppressor like this to see if I will hunt with it or not.
I’ll see what I can do. It will take some time as I’m very busy over the next 4 weeks.Great report! Only question is about the balance point. I haven’t done a test but it just feels better. My buddy said the same thing.I tried to show balance in this post earlier. I would say subjectively the OG feels better balanced but as you can see in photos 1 and 3, the Scythe and OG are near identical when balanced on a 1x2 and both are noticeably better than the harvester Evo.
