Now this is a step forward. Sign me up for a design with ~raptor 10 suppression, rated for 16" barrel short mags. This is exactly what I was PM'ing you about doing! I even sketched up about what it would look like... It would even double as a full 8" can for shooters that don't want to get a custom barrel cut, so the market for US would be wider. And it doesn't have to be installed by a gunsmith.

For some quick math... this would increase the reflex expansion chamber volume by around 37% over the OG while not changing the form factor and reducing weight. You could shorten the reflex by an inch and achieve the same internal reflex volume as the OG.

So I'm not the only crazy one out there? In my mind this would be ideal for my 22 creed rokset it on and leave until I burn it down remove get new barrel repeat. Vs the cost of a integrated suppressor barrel each time.
Nice! Starting to catch my interest now!
This has turned into a fun thread! For me, I run a can so I don’t have to run ear pro when in quick, high pressure hunting scenarios. Or more simple scenarios like last year when I simply wanted to walk my young son through the shot process of the cow elk harvest he accompanied me on here in Southern Utah. I’m clearly the outlier after reading this thread (and am exposing myself to Form’s crosshairs) but I don’t have much interest in a can that I can’t run unsurpressed for a round or two out of my 6CM or 22 ARC when hunting (with some margin for error on the decibel/safety level to boot).. That is the primary reason why I started running a can to begin with and I hope to not lose sight of that in a quest for a few less ounces or a couple less inches..
I do not understand what you are meaning here? The OG is SO FAR BELOW hearing “safe” that I cannot understand why it is still being brought up.
The OG again metered at 132-134db today. The Scyth had shots over 133dB- though the average was lower. There is no issue with using an OG- or any legit can under 140dB- while hunting for a couple of shots without ear protection.
On what barrel length and cartridge?
You're more the mainstream than the outlier. The vast majority of suppressor buyers do so for sound suppression than any other reason.Nice! Starting to catch my interest now!

Maybe my mindset will be different when I’m less fit or have the funds for multiple cans, but for now that’s where I’m at today, I just don’t have a need for these smaller volume cans.. I want to support US and the shoot2hunt crew and hopeful for some larger volume cans in their pipeline!
They've been showing 132-134ish DBa @ shooters ear long as I can remember for the OG on standard 20" 308 m118LR.Could be mistaken, but IIRC the earlier "tests" didn't prove to be that quiet. Thinking it was more in the 136-138db range.
I stand corrected, as I was about 1.6db's off apparentlygot out camping this weekend and took just a few minutes to shoot over the sound meter. I was kind of surprised with the results. I set the sound meter up for max DB hold using the LPK format. This measures the absolute peak max sound pressure without doing any averaging or manipulation internally. Most acoustic sound meters would read something that is quieter than what I got unless similarly configured.
The cans tested are
Jk armamenk rcx 155 3 baffle configuration 5in
PWS BDE 556 Full stack 6.5in
AB A10 .308 6.5in
AB RAPTOR 8 3.5 reflex 9.5in oal 22cal
UM OG 4in reflex 8in oal

(Crocs intentionally in picture.)
I was pretty rushed for time so I just tested things quickly. I took two shots with each can and recorded the highest number. I used my 223 shooting a reasonably hot load of varget 73ELDM.

Sounds was measured roughly at shooters ear location.
Jk 155 138.7
PWS 134.3
AB A10 133.5
AB RAPTOR 8 127.6
UM OG 134.5

just listing the numbers is not a great reflection of how my ears perceived them. I definitely think there’s a strong argument for tone playing a significant role in perception. To my ears and a couple other buddies the UM was second quietest of this group. That said I don’t think it’s even the most important point of the design. I really appreciate how much shorter this thing is. The only real fair comparison is the 5 inch JK which is obnoxiously louder by my perception.
The UM really feels like a well balanced Jack of all trades. It seems like it’s quiet enough. It definitely doesn’t weigh What most of these other cans do and man is it nice that it doesn't stick so far out. For a suppressor designed for Hunting it feels like it hits the sweet spot.
I have to give cudos to the ab raptor. it is impressively quiet. For something that doesn't get packed or for high round count shooting it would be nice.
i’ll try and sneak out again to shoot this test with a 22 Creedmoor to see if it plays out any different
I stand corrected, as I was about 1.6db's off apparently

Apologies my post was triggering Form. I never said it wasn't hearing safe, nor did I say anything derogatory about the can (or mean to atleast). It appears to be an awesome can and if I was interested in an ultralight, mid-130db rated can for a specific use case, it would certaintly be my first choice based on what I know about it today. What I did say in my post however is that I was excited to see some larger volumne cans in the pipeline from Unknown Surpressors as I prefer the heavier / larger volumne cans that can provide me with more supression and more margin of error, especially with young kids that are increasingly with me when on the mountain. Again, just saying I was excited to see some larger volumne cans in the pipeline from Unknown Surpressors given what I'm looking to optimize for when selecting a can.. Apologies again.

The OG is not a can you can shoot for a handful of rounds without hearing damage? Your clarification is causing more confusion ...“Triggering”? Trying to correct bad statements isn’t “triggering”.
This thread is half full of posts purposely or unintentionally inferring that the OG isn’t hearing “safe”. And then you write the below-
That’s exactly what the OG is.
