The problem will be back pressure with this can.

Good to know. My application isn't for hard use or sustained fire though, just precision hunting/varminting a few shots at a time, max, while carrying the gun around all day. If I can still tune the gas system down enough to where it cycles but isn't beating things up, a little extra gas out the ejection port won't be a problem. Especially if I can get the equivalent of 8 or even 6 inches of suppressor benefit with only adding 4 inches of OAL. Think this suppressor might work well for all this?

Unless you made it the same foorprint as a Howa mini, there aren't any mini actions with any aftermarket support for stocks, bottom metal, etc., right? Or am I missing one?
I'm not a mini action aficionado, and simply have to say "I don't know."

I had a passing interest, then decided I was fine with my Tikka 223.

I would personally underwrite the rokstok inlet setup work and even a new mold if necessary. Shortening the outer dimensions of a tikka mag just as the inner dimensions are restricted by spacers is not trivial but it’s also not rocket science.

+1 for a mini tikka.

One caveat: It would be unbelievably short-sighted to not make it compatible with AR mags. Even if adding a release complicates things. It makes a yes/purchase the easy answer. Nobody's forced into proprietary mags, everyone has a stash of their own already, they make training easier by volume and pre-prep of mags, and people can make their own choices far more easily on what capacity they want to hunt with or train with.

That's an even better idea. ICAR mag profile for the Russian bolt face cartridges, and a spacer to STANAG for 223.

Very much so. Deer are matriarchal. If you drop the matriarch at impact- not a twitch; generally the herd doesn’t react much- they kind of kill about until another doe starts to take charge and leave. If you can spot her and drop her on the spot, it starts over. So one and so forth. I have killed entire deer herds without them leaving the field doing that.

This year hunting elk with Ryan Avery and his uncle, I killed the matriarch in the timber at about 30 yards. The herd ran out to about 450y and milled about looking back at them for 5-10 minutes. Then moved out to about 900 yards and stood around for 10’ish minutes again. They didn’t want to leave. They eventually wondered out into a cut.

What specifically are you looking for in identifying the matriarch? I haven't hunted does, but this behavior is extremely interesting, and would appreciate any detail you can share.

I have always preferred OTB cans do I need another one no, but I’ll likely buy one. Do I need a new EXO pack with a bottom opening nope, but I’ll probably buy one. Will I buy a new scope designed to work better, probably. Will I buy a Rokstock, probably. Will I buy a copy of a Tikka action or a MRC rifle probably not but as an end user I like to see companies working to bring more options to the market and listening to its end users, so a big thumbs up to everyone involved.

Point well taken

Tikka compatible PPC/ARC bolts are already on the docket for 2025.

The mini action has definitely been discussed and is in the running for a near future project. There’s a few logistics involved, but it’s on the list of possibilities.

Our goal as a receiver manufacturer is to fill voids in the industry and produce high quality, hunting specific actions. A mini certainly checks off those boxes.

I don't see why a mini tikka action couldn't be made to use full length action stocks and accessories... isn't that what a T1x essentially is?

A mini action tikka in a RokStok lite that takes AR mags?…. I’m in. Take my money.

Since we're on our way back to the moon and continuing on to Mars in this thread, I'm going to throw my dream out there again for somebody with manufacturing capabilities to take hold of and make a million bucks.

Please design and make a quick stock takedown mechanism to install on carbon fiber or synthetic stocks! A twist lock mechanism built in to the rokstok right behind the tang is worth $1,000 to me.

Or a folding mechanism. That might be easier to install.

+Another vote for mini action. Anybody can make a bottom metal. UM already has an in with stockys to make a rokstock for it. Plastic tikka mags are not hard to make. I can make one on my kitchen counter in about 10 minutes.
Here’s a custom 223 mag with 2.6coal

Do you just file down the rear of the mag?
