Had another succesful annual trip to north central, Kansas. Dad and I got down there a few days before opening morning to scout and hunt a few sheds. Got 9 blinds set, and great food and talks for a few nights. We both tagged out opening day, and the others (7 total guys) arrived Wed morning. We ended up 13/14 birds. Always a great time! Few pics..

One of mine was my first "limbhanger" 1 1/2" spurs and a nice paintbrush for KS. Never weighed him, but he was the biggest rio I've shot to date.

Damn nice! We went out this morning and weathered the snow but it was dead silent all morning, barely saw any sign of life let alone birds =/ First hunt for CO Turkey was a bit of a letdown!

Got it done in KY over the weekend. Birds are henned up real bad in the areas I could hunt, and I had to sneak up on this guy and his hens, thankfully it was windy enough that I was able to get it done. 20.5 lbs, 10" beard, 1 1/8" spurs, public land.

Opening weekend archery here in SD. The birds weren't responsive as they were still in large groups. But we managed to get the job done. Had the whole family in the blind and that's a tight fit! Had a great time and managed to kill our first double and got it on film.

Scored this morning on a long beard. 20.6 lbs, 9 3/4" beard, and inch spurs. Shot him at 20 yards with my Mossberg 835 and 3" Winchester Longbeard #6. Had to get a photo op with my daughter. She turned 1 today. The other pic is from last year when she was only a few days old. Gonna try to make it a yearly tradition with her.

Had to work in Oklahoma this week so I came down early for the weekend with my bow.

My second year in a row getting it done on public land in Southern Wisconsin. A respectable 2 year old called from a long way out. Natural set-up but had to use the shotgun; both bows are in the shop and very little time to hunt this weekend being Easter and all. I know, I know, bad timing. It was a beautiful Easter morning to be sitting in the woods and I think I got my first mosquito bite of the year after freezing my butt off Saturday morning. 25°F increase in temp in 24 hours fired those birds up nicely.
