One of boys (just turned 7) bagged this one on Friday with a 410. Scored out at 67.625. I stuck an arrow in a jake on Sunday evening. Couldn't resist... He brags about how his is the biggest in the family so far.
First bird of the season... killed him on 4/6. Had 17 birds pitch down off the roost 20 yards behind me. A few minutes later I had 3 jakes circling my DSD jake and 7 hens in the decoys. The jakes were giving the DSD a good beating when two longbeards strutted in and the jakes scattered. I let the toms settle down by the jake at 7 yards and sliced the top of his head open with a Bullhead.

Shameless Kifaru Nomad plug...
My sons first bird of the season. 10" beard, 1" spurs
It's been a tough year so far with a limited amount of time in the field (due to moving and all the extra honey-dos that come with it) and during those times being tormented by jakes but today I was able to sneak out during the wind and rain and get it done. I was working another tom when this two year old came in silent and started putting the hurt on the DSD...it was not his lucky day.
