The CPW has an app that you can download that shows all of the streams/lakes in CO and what species of trout are in them. It has helped me plan for streams for my Dad to fish while I’m elk hunting in September.

The Colorado is a big/wide silty river by the time it hits Rifle so you aren’t likely to get any trout there. The Glenwood Springs area isn’t far away and you can fish the Roaring Fork, the Frying Pan and the Crystal rivers, all of which are classic Colorado trout rivers. You can also stay on 70 and head further east to the Aspen area and fish the Eagle River. Otherwise you are stuck to the small alpine lakes around Rifle. Maybe Rifle Gap Reservoir.

There’s a few small creeks with Brooke Char in them in the unit and a few lakes. 32 is not where i would head for fishing in my part of the state. Glenwood Canyon has some great fishing in it, get off on the Grizzly rest area exit and get on the bike path to fish. Under the I-70 Bridge at Silt has some good fish to but is just a hit and run spot, it’s worth a leg stretch. Up the roaring fork and frying pan to the south of Glenwood are classic trout streams for Combat style fishing, they are fly and lure only and the flyfishing purists will heap scorn on you for using lures.

Awesome! Good to know, I’ll be using spinning reel. Maybe they won’t bury me.

Is snagging legal there?

For the most part, no.

Snagging Kokanee is allowed on some bodies of water during specific times.

"5. SNAGGING is permitted for taking kokanee salmon only, on specific waters
listed in this brochure. Other species snagged must be returned to the
water immediately."
