Just get in the woods as much as you can. You’ll see deer, make mistakes, eventually get an opportunity to take an animal, and learn a whole bunch. There’s nothing better than getting out before sunrise and watching the forest come alive.
For new hunters, I'd say take all the good advice above, take it to heart and into the woods for five years, and then if you still think hunting is a *sport*, I'd encourage you to hang it up and try something different.
