To stop thief from getting your guns in truck

Take it in the hotel with you or get a pelican case and a bike lock and chain that thing down even if it’s in a bed box.

I have the Diamondback on my 2003 Dodge Ram for many years now. Getting one for my 2024 F450. Hard to beat for a security cover. You aint going to pry your way in or break the locking mechanism. I always carry $2500 worth of construction power tools in my Ram and I never worry about it with that HD cover, plus you can haul a lot of weight on top of it too. Nice that its water proof as well.
I love my Diamonback cover but I hate that new trucks just have the auto tailgate lock and not a keyed lock. If someone wants to get into the back of a new truck all they have to do is smash the window and hit the unlock button.

New law in Colorado that just passed -
Im not sure if this applies to Nat'l Forest Land/ [i.e. camping, hunting]

Safe storage in vehicles

Starting in 2025, a gun will have to be in a locked, hard-sided container out of view — such as a glove box or center console — when kept in a vehicle under House Bill 1348.

The bill will also require the vehicle to be locked. Violators will face a fine, though there are exceptions for people who work on farms and ranches or in the military or law enforcement.

The penalty for violating the law will be a civil infraction that carries a fine.

The measure also requires gun dealers to post a sign notifying customers of the new law.
