Yup.Looks like they did speed up the 7 mag and 7/08 to 1:9”. Think they used to be 1:9.5. Would have been nice if they would have gone all the way to 1:8 instead

Is there a way to tell if a cartridge will fit in the stock gun? Vor-tx 165 gr Barnes ttsx?Glad they did this. A little salty I just bought one and it was 1:11". 1:10" opens up ability to shoot longer/heavier bullets and makes the magazine COAL limitation an even greater issue...
I have some 208’s and 215’s to try. I’m basically at SL, so we’ll see if they stabilize or not.1-10” is better.
However- what are you guys wanting to shoot that a 1-11” twist is problem? We ahoot 215gr Bergers from 1-11” 300WM, and 208gr ELD-M’s from 308 win with 1-11” twist.

I’m not fussed about the 11”. If this barrel isn’t a shooter, it’ll become a 6mm platform
I think folks mainly get their panties in a twist based upon what they read as minimum recommended twist from the bullet manufacturers.I had two 11.25” twist 308’s that shot 208’s great at sea level. I doubt you will find a stability issue at all.
No one is a fan of fast twists more than I, however people need to understand that a 1-10” twist 30cal is a fast twist. It’s akin to a 1-7” .224, or a 1-7.5” 243, etc. A 1-11” twist 30cal is like a 1-8” or a 1-8.5” twist 6mm. Would it be my preference, no. Is it sufficient for about everything except the extremes, yes.
Also, I think most the stability calculators aren’t accounting for plastic tip or lead voids in the bullet nose and are therefore too conservative
Both my Tikka 308s shoot factory FGMM 185s really, really well. A TacA1 and a Veil that rides in a Bravo.Recently received a Superlite that I was hoping was 10” twist…it wasn’t.
I’ll see how well it shoots 185’s with a Rokstok before deciding on a 6UM or 6/7mm PRC
Why would they take 300 WSM out of production?Picked up a 300 wsm stainless lite today. It was supposed to be a 1-10 but is not. Gun shop guy who was extremely helpful talked to Beretta rep and was told that the 1-10s aren’t in production yet and may be available this summer, if they decide to keep 300 wsm in lineup at all.
I don’t know, slow sales maybe. The Beretta rep said there’s quite a few 1-11 twist 300 wsm’s that need sold first. Why would they take 300 WSM out of production?
Most copper over about 160gr unless it's an extra low BC short fat little thing.1-10” is better.
