It’s the factory fluting from a Tikka Roughtek. What kind of fluting do you have on your tikka bolt? Or who did it?

it is heavier than I’d like, so it doesn’t stay on if I need the gun super light. I think the delta between the standard recoil pad and 2 spacers & the adjustable pad is 3-4 oz. I don’t need spacers when using the adjustable pad as it adds about the equivalent of 2 spacers in length.I’m going to look into that, thanks!
Edit- 0.4lbs yikes that’s a bit heavy for a lightweight chasis
To be fair, I did not try this. How much did you find it to improve the recoil impulse?
I didn't know MDT did one for the Hnt26 but that's intriguing. I have a tr2 buttstock on another chassis and once I got it above boreline it was a noticeable improvement in felt recoil and muzzle flip on a 30 calThis is the way with a HNT 26. Negative comb with the cheek riser and above bore centerline buttpad.

Do you shoot it much without the raised buttpad? This is the way with a HNT 26. Negative comb with the cheek riser and above bore centerline buttpad.

Yes. 223 & 6 CM so far. Even with the 223 it’s better with the raised pad. I wish they would make a lighter version, but this stays on most of the time.Do you shoot it much without the raised buttpad?
I can't seem to find anywhere near me that has the chassis in stock to hold it. May have to try and find a rifle that uses the stock in a store I guess. Do you know of any large retailers that carry these chassis in store?Yes. 223 & 6 CM so far. Even with the 223 it’s better with the raised pad. Where do you live? Likely someone nearby you could meet up with.I can't seem to find anywhere near me that has the chassis in stock to hold it. May have to try and find a rifle that uses the stock in a store I guess. Do you know of any large retailers that carry these chassis in store?

Well that is what I had initially thought, it just seems like such a sweet setup that it would be hard not to like it.Regardless of trying before buying, if you can financially swing it, I don't think you'll find any issues with the HNT26. It's my favorite stock, and I'm not even a chassis guy. In addition, everyone who's used mine feels the same way. This chassis isn't just hard to beat; in the current market, it's impossible to beat.
