I’m going to look into that, thanks!

Edit- 0.4lbs yikes that’s a bit heavy for a lightweight chasis
it is heavier than I’d like, so it doesn’t stay on if I need the gun super light. I think the delta between the standard recoil pad and 2 spacers & the adjustable pad is 3-4 oz. I don’t need spacers when using the adjustable pad as it adds about the equivalent of 2 spacers in length.

To be fair, I did not try this. How much did you find it to improve the recoil impulse?

It helps considerably in spotting impacts, imo, same as how the Rokstok does. I find it helps especially when shooting prone.

Yes. 223 & 6 CM so far. Even with the 223 it’s better with the raised pad. I wish they would make a lighter version, but this stays on most of the time.
I can't seem to find anywhere near me that has the chassis in stock to hold it. May have to try and find a rifle that uses the stock in a store I guess. Do you know of any large retailers that carry these chassis in store?

Where do you live? Likely someone nearby you could meet up with.

Regardless of trying before buying, if you can financially swing it, I don't think you'll find any issues with the HNT26. It's my favorite stock, and I'm not even a chassis guy. In addition, everyone who's used mine feels the same way. This chassis isn't just hard to beat; in the current market, it's impossible to beat.

Well that is what I had initially thought, it just seems like such a sweet setup that it would be hard not to like it.

What is your thoughts on the full acra rail? Do you actually use the whole thing on occasion or would I be better off just getting a small arca plate in front of the mag and then a small picatinny rail up front for my bipod?

If you shoot off a tripod much it’s nice to have the full length. Especially if there’s steep up/down. It also feels better in the hand and on the shoulder than a piece of arca plate sticking out in only one spot.

That’s a sweet looking rifle. I really want to go with a 16” barrel to make it a little more compact but I don’t want to lose the speed. I think I’ll end up with an 18” barrel as well.

this is sort of how mine currently sits ( I since replaced the swivel/mlok spartan with a pic rail and put a mini arca just behind the pic rail). Tikka 6.5 CM oem 20in barrel cerakoted and threaded. I had the folder before this but don't rly have a need for the folder as I prefer to carry and deploy from my SG sling. it took me trying a couple other chassis to appreciate the Hnt26 as I had tried them the past and sold them. the palm swell on the grip and thumb notch is rly comfy for my hand. with the 3 round flush mag I carry it right over the flush mag and the first mlok spot and its much nicer to carry in my hand than a XLR/Ultradyne style forend. I haven't really done a ton of tripod shooting but hoping to use this platform to improve at that. its better feel than an xlr in cold but I liked the XLR folder better. The Hnt26 is lighter though. hnt26 buttpad sucks but that is solved with an obi cush pad. I dont think they are worth it new for 1700+ but there are deals to be had from time to time with sales and in the classifieds. Best advice is try and shoot one, its kind of a personal thing.
