Tikka Barrel Removal and Install Tool Swap Thread

I
Tikka tools are about to make their rounds again.

Does anybody have Creedmoor go/no-go gauges that they’d be alright with me sending around? Those are by far the most popular ask.
Have a creedmoor go guage

I'd like to get in line for the tools, or if someone in SE Idaho is already on the list, maybe I could coordinate with them and skip the shipping for one direction. I'm in Pocatello. It sounds like there are at least three sets going around from @gtriple @Jimbee @Eluder. Let me know if I can get on any of your lists. I'm only a FNG, so I expect to pay a full deposit for the cost of the tools.

I added you to the list. Shouldn’t be long to get through the ones on there now.

Might be worth calling Justin at Kinport Peak Rifles there in Pocatello, if you don't want to wait for the tools I'm sure he could help you out to screw some stuff together. He's a great dude.

I would also like to get in line for the tools. I would pay in full and if a set of Creedmoor gauges came with it that would be a plus. I would obviously be paying in full as I do not post much. Thanks in advance and let me know what I need to do.

I replied to your PM.....

I’m going to try my 1st swap from a 7mm/08 to a 22 creed. I’m in Green Bay, WI. Would love to get in line for tool rental. I’m in no rush.

It’s the weirdest thing, the last 4 DM’s I sent I never have a reply. Maybe something is going on with my account?
I think there's a minimum post count before PM's go through other members to help prevent bots from scamming.

I think the cut off is 10 messages. His account shouldn’t be affected by the bot/scam prevention.

I have received replies to DM’s in the past. This just recently started happening. I honestly just thought nobody was answering me ha ha

I'm looking to get my hands on the tools for a barrel swap if they are available. Creedmoor go/no go gauges would be awesome too.

Also looking to get in line for the swap tools for a Tikka T3x.

Edit: I’m in the Reno/Tahoe area. Also will a .308 go gauge work for a 7mm-08?

Since this thread is for DIY gunsmiths, anybody ever thread a barrel? Is it as simple as threading a piece of 1/2” gas pipe with a Ridgid pipe threading die? I’ve been happy for close to 40 years shooting un-suppressed rifles, but I have feeling I’d be twice as happy shooting suppressed.
