I got it rough zeroed and started breaking the barrel in last night. By break in, I just mean shooting it.

This was ten rounds at 50 yards plus my buddy fired three rounds with his 308 at the same poa. Barely over moa with mixed brass, 53 grain hollow point rounds that I loaded for plinking with the AR.

75 ELDM, 25 grains of Varget, Lapua brass, BR4 primer. 2.410” in Accurate mags. 2950 out of a 24” CTR. Thats a common TAC class load. I know lots of guys shooting it. I’ve used in mid range 6-800yd FTR as well.

In my rifle, they don’t like much of a jump. They only shot OK till I got 10-15 off lands. Once I got them close the groups tightened right up.

@Justin Crossley 25 grains of varget, winchester brass w/75's stacks em into stupid little groups with our 223!

Start low and work up to pressure, i've found several 223's to shoot this load well. (Brass internal capacity has a big fluctuation with 223 in my testing.)

I'm guessing because they have a softer cup and are more prone to being pierced at less than crazy pressures.
CCI doesn’t seem to think so. I emailed them(cci) about loading 223 rounds at max pressures with cci400s and they said that there are no issue with doing so.

My Tikka doesn't seem to love the 75s. Two ten round groups both shot about 1.5 moa. I may try a different powder to see if that makes a difference.

The first one is 24 grains of Varget.

Good to know. What about 556 max pressure?

All I know is I’ve seen a lot of people complain about pierced 400s. They have a thinner cup than 450s and br4s.

I didn’t ask about 556, so I can’t answer that. The internet rumors is why I sent them an email.

I would imagine you won't have an issue in a bolt gun, but in a AR you likely would.

1.5” is about all I could get from 75 eldm as well. I tried a lot as well they were just picky in my barrel.

I had good luck with 73 eldm, 75bthp.

Would like to try some 80.5 bergers
