Getting ready to load for a new elk rifle. Looking at 175 eld-x with Peterson brass. Anyone have a load that is working well? Seekins M3 Element rifle.

Buddy was zeroing in on pretty good loads using 175eldx/Peterson with 66.2gr H1000 and 63.1gr of H4831SC. He's not done yet though...

I have also had good luck with H1000 in my 7prc. I am running 162gr Hammer HHT with 68.8 gr of H1000 and ADG brass. 5 shot groups are just under .5 moa.

I will take a look at the HHT. After a bunch of reading it looked like the Fed Terminal Ascent is a good elk bullet, and then realized I couldn’t buy it as a component.

I have had good luck with the HHT bullets so far. I took a buck antelope, a bull elk and a buck mule deer this year with the load I mentioned before and none of them made it more than a few yards.

My load out of a 22" x caliber barrel. 175 eldx, 68 grains of h1000, stacks 5 rounds under .5 moa, velocity 2910. Adg brass and lrm primers.

175 ELDX and Partition
69.0 Retumbo
Peterson brass
Fed 215M primer

Is what my hunting buddy uses. Don’t recall velocity

I appreciate all the responses, there is definitely a theme here which will get me much closer to a good starting point.
