Threading tikka fluted barrel?

Awesome, thanks man! I’ll reach out to em. Any pics of the work?
All I have at the moment, could take close ups later if you want. No shoulder added as he said it wasn’t necessary, there was enough meat there after threading.

Reached out to Karl but he said he’s too busy to accept new work and doesn’t know when he’ll be able to. Who else do yall recommend to cut into the flutes on a roughtech, thread 5/8x24 and put a shoulder in?
I will be getting mine back from Paul Hampton next week if the shipping info is correct. His company is called Country Custom Metalsmithing out of Fallon, NV. I can shoot you over a picture once it gets back if you’re interested.

I would like a Pic also if you don't mind.

Kinport Peak Rifles in Idaho. I have multiple builds from him and is my primary choice, especially after he fixed what Karl couldn't figure out and gave up on. He was doing a Friday threading deal where that's all he did on Friday's and I got my last one back in a week, not sure now.

And the non fluted Tikka. I’m happy with both. Hopefully the Nano shows up for this one soon.

Note that he offered to make custom thread protectors that would almost blend into the barrels if I understood correctly. I declined since I plan on getting a dedicated suppressor for each. Just reused the factory Tikka protector.

So got my barrels back today. I’m pleased with what he did aesthetically. If it works as well as it looks I’ll be very happy. Should have a better idea on that when I get a suppressor to screw on it.
Both look great! Thanks for posting pics. I’ve talked to him and am planning on sending mine that way, especially after seeing these. Cheers!

Those look simple and light. I like it.

Can you share a picture from the muzzle end? I’m curious how he added the shoulder. Is it threaded on? Is it press fit?

Are those are 5/8 threads cut into the barrel? Are they an adapter?

I can try to take another picture tonight once I get home if kids and chores allow for it.

The threading is 5/8 x 24 on my Tikka's. Their barrel profile is too thin to do that threading directly after chopping them down to length. I didn't ask explicitly, but from internet research it looks like the process goes something like this:

1. Cut barrel to length and thread to 1/2 x 28.
2. Install and bond an adaptor of wanted thread pitch.
3. I believe this adaptor was milled to match the barrel profile.

I saw some other video where a thread protector was bonded to the adaptor after step 2 and then that assembly was milled to match the barrel profile and requested threading. I'd be lying if I claimed to know exactly how Paul did it though.
