Threading “Thin Contour” or “Tikka Lite Contour”Barrels 5/8-24. Flutes Are Welcome!

I almost had mine talked into it, but he just said it's not smart. I'd be curious to see how much surface area you have on your can to shoulder.
This .223 gets a lot of rounds run thru it regularly. I’ll find out if it’s a problem sooner than later. I’m very confident in it that said.

Have their been any issues with those who have threaded their Tikka light barrels at 5/8 x 24? I've got a 308 barrel I want to cut down to 16.5", and I want it threaded to 5/8 x 24. I am nervous about doing 1/2 x 28 and putting an adapter on it due to tolerance stacking (I'm putting a muzzle device on it to host the can).

I’ve had a Tikka Lite 6.5 Creed cut at 16” and threaded 5/8 x 24, no issues at all.

Just run it at 5/8. It’s a non issue that some consider a bad idea in theory with nothing to actually support it.

How much shoulder was there for the suppressor to seal on? I'd be interested in seeing a photo if you have one.
Not a ton of shoulder, but enough to mount a TBAC CB brake. I realize that the shoulder isn’t visible with the brake, but it may give some idea. Ideally, a false shoulder would be employed, but this has been suitable for its use.
