Threading “Thin Contour” or “Tikka Lite Contour”Barrels 5/8-24. Flutes Are Welcome!

They look stupid, especially when you cut down the barrel and they don’t have the normal barrel at the end.

That’s one reason. Also, I wouldn’t trust cutting away anymore metal on those super thin barrels.

You do you. Again, if I plan on having a smith cut and thread a barrel, I’m not buying a Superlite. The Lite models are just fine.

You are aware that the Lites and Superlites are the same barrel profile, right?

I was once concerned about cutting & threading a fluted barrel, but I got over it.

The flutes stop at the can, big deal, doesn't bother me in the least.

The flutes were so deep on this Remington Varmint contour, he went with 1/28 threads.

Not an issue in multiple barrels and thousands of rounds. I understand you and others not liking the way it looks, but its completely functional.

Not to derail this thread in any way, but since I have no knowledge, and dont know where else to ask, if I was thinking of getting an over the barrel suppressor, is it ok with a fluted barrel ?

Yep no worries. I have two over barrel suppressors on fluted barrels with no issues seen.
