Threading a .30 cal Tikka t3x superlite or lite

I just got a hold of a Gunsmith named Kevin Weaver in Peyton. He said he's done tons of 30 cal 1/2x28 and recommend an adapter. I know someone on this thread said his gunsmith said the same thing. I'm going to try it out and see what happens.
It will work fine, it’s not going to blow up or anything. You just ent up with a ring on your barrel where the metal is very thin which could be a failure point in a drop or something.

The smith said he's been threading 30 cals at 1/2x28 for 30 years or something. I told him some smiths said that its too thin. He said why is it too thin? Then he laughed. Seems like a cool guy if it ends up being a problem ill just hack the barrel back 😬

Did you use rocksett or anything for the thread adapter? Did you torque the adapter on with a specific torque?

I just got a t3x light with 22” black barrel in 308 and would like to get it threaded for my nomad 30 suppressor.

Of those of you that have had a similar barrel threaded have there been any significant changes in accuracy? Any feedback on point of impact shifts between suppressed and not suppressed?

Couldn’t you tread 9/16 a little longer and run something like this or a adco treaded shoulder with loctite.
Would at least be direct thread?

Have my 6.5 and 30/06 I want to chop down.
I have looked at all the options from ahead, kampfield and others.
Talking to kampfield and I ask about just threading 5/8x24 longer and then making a threaded washer and machining it to taper from barrel to shoulder.
He recommend threading 1/2x28 and making an adaptor to 5/8/24.
Tbac recommend 9/16 cb or said they could do it 9/16 direct thread at the 17.5 inch mark.
Would that be the best option,is it to thin on the 06?
Pic shows 16.5-19 inch deminsions.
One pic shows kampfields which looks nice and the other is just a adco washer added.

I finally got my t3x threaded. The gunsmith put a shoulder on and threaded to 5/8".

I'm currently running a Nomad 30 (and xeno flash hider for "quick" attachment) and it shoots as good as or better than before the threading.
