Uh. The incorrect pronounciation of 'Leupold' irks me every time. (It's like how you Americans leave out the 'i' in 'aluminium', or say 'irregardless'.)Zeronator.
And then, like all good scope names, there will be lots of misconceptions on how it’s even pronounced. Like Trijicon or Leupold( you know Lee uh polled vs Loo-pold; Trih juh con vs Try jih con)
Can we pleeeease have a fixed version ... just so we have the 'Unknown MF' scope?UMV318, Unknown Munitions Variable 3-18. Any subsequent models can be referenced UMV for variable power or UMF for fixed power. Simple and easy to continue with naming if more scopes are released in the future.
Woah. Let's not canonize him - not only is that not what @Formidilosus is likely to want, but it would turn Rokslide into the weirdest hagiography ever ...Form 3:18

We changed the spelling of aluminum just so we can pronounce it how we wantUh. The incorrect pronounciation of 'Leupold' irks me every time. (It's like how you Americans leave out the 'i' in 'aluminium', or say 'irregardless'.)
Look, all people have to do is remember the mantra 'Leupold is crap' - and then they'll know it's pronounced 'Loo-pold'. Done.
Irregardless, how's your maths?Uh. The incorrect pronounciation of 'Leupold' irks me every time. (It's like how you Americans leave out the 'i' in 'aluminium', or say 'irregardless'.)

Makes it easier to measure with our fractional rulersWe changed the spelling of aluminum just so we can pronounce it how we want![]()
Agreed there for sure. I just don't see it NOT being branded primarily by the manufacturing partner. Who outside of Rokslide is going to buy a $1000 scope from a company called Shoot2Hunt? If it's say a Vortex scope, "designed in partnership with S2H" you have much larger potential customer base with that known scope manufacturer being the primary branding.I was also simply saying that it is a Shoot2Hunt product not an Unknown Munitions product. So calling it UMV318 for Unknown Munitions is silly
As a fellow dobermann owner myself, I think you've already made up your mind on the name and refuse to accept any alternative lol.Woah. Let's not canonize him - not only is that not what @Formidilosus is likely to want, but it would turn Rokslide into the weirdest hagiography ever ...
I feel like it being vortex anything is a surefire way to tank its sales here.Agreed there for sure. I just don't see it NOT being branded primarily by the manufacturing partner. I want to say it was mentioned that would be the setup...but I could be wrong. The emphasis on the scope having "Shoot2Hunt" on it is likely because that was potentially not going to happen.
Simply naming it the, "Vortex Shoot2Hunt Scope" is kinda lame, needs a catchy name.
Also, the scope will be at Shot Show but neither S2H or UM have booths so it must be at the manufacturing partner's booth. Would be kinda weird for them to have a product without their branding on it in their booth. But that's a weaker argument than the above haha.
Semantics.
Vortex doesn’t even make their own scopes. They are a brand/design house likely nearly every other “scope brand”.I feel like it being vortex anything is a surefire way to tank its sales here.
...for civilians.Vortex doesn’t even make their own scopes.
It has been mentioned in discussion that they have both a volume ordered and a volume previously sold requirement and that it is a tough market to break into.Anyone know much about what it takes to get LOW to make a scope to your specs? I am guessing either you have to be established in the scope game or place a large enough order to make it worth their time.
Probably.I’m guessing that big name companies would not be interested in the RokScope. It’s probably a company that we wouldn’t expect.
