That is closer to a Nessmuk, IMO, which is a great knife for a trapper/hunter to carry for general purpose. The leaf shape is what works better for skinning. I am thinking about making a Nessmuk as my next knife for a Rokslide collab.
That’s the same steel that I am using for the Dixie Zipper, and I like it a lot.
But, the lines are not as sweeping as the CBK design incorporated in the Dixie Zipper. The blade shape does a lot of the work with the zipper. And, the handle angle keeps the blade engaged with less stress on the hand working on the animal from strange angles.
If you want to pick up a Dixie Zipper, my offer stands to anyone. Buy it and try it. If it’s not for you I will send a refund. If it takes a season to figure out if it is for you, that’s fine.
