Is this the correct knife maker ? I’ve been wanting a CBK and Rokslide has inspired some new versions.

Is this design influenced by Form? A previous post mentioned he was working with a knife maker at UM to make some minor adjustments to the original design.

I don’t have the zipper but do have a few others, (LT wright small northern hunter is the zippers daddy imo) The top knife wouldn’t interest me. The sweep of the zipper and others is what keeps the knife doing more work. The top knife to me looks as if the tip of the blade is the only usable sweep to the blade.

I have a Dixie CBK and it’s great, fits the hand and gives you a lot of blade to work with. The top design doesn’t have the same lines as a CBK so I don’t think it would handle as well.

That is closer to a Nessmuk, IMO, which is a great knife for a trapper/hunter to carry for general purpose. The leaf shape is what works better for skinning. I am thinking about making a Nessmuk as my next knife for a Rokslide collab.

That’s the same steel that I am using for the Dixie Zipper, and I like it a lot.

But, the lines are not as sweeping as the CBK design incorporated in the Dixie Zipper. The blade shape does a lot of the work with the zipper. And, the handle angle keeps the blade engaged with less stress on the hand working on the animal from strange angles.

If you want to pick up a Dixie Zipper, my offer stands to anyone. Buy it and try it. If it’s not for you I will send a refund. If it takes a season to figure out if it is for you, that’s fine.

I am ordering some wood slabs for handles, will have some in January start to show up.

I just broke down an entire elk with the same @Dixie cbk knife that @hereinaz sells, or at least very similar. Great knife. I highly recommend it.

I'll be doing some custom Zippers out of Magnacut to send to @hereinaz when I get back from hiding out in Arizona from the snow.
Elk antler and Stabilized wood will be the first... likely with leather sheaths.
