The Shoot2hunt Podcast

The truest thing I have ever heard on a podcast was when Yall talked about turning 40..

At 39 and 364 days old: wake up, get some smack batter on my hooya bone, eat steak and eggs, JiuJitsu, go shoot for a few hours, lunch, weightroom and run, scotch and bed...

Hits 40: crippled for two days because I slept longer than 6 hours, throws back out wiping ass, smells a beer and is hung over the next day.... WTF

I gets better!
I'm closing in on 50 and now I get hang overs from chocolate, any good bread and microwave popcorn...

This is what I get to look forward to…?

At least you're getting up to go. My stupid sleep brain just has me rolling around in bed wishing I could pee to sleep better but never getting up to do it

Yep, I’m 60 and got none of that shit happening
Well I am 59 and I'd say you are a mighty lucky feller lol course in 2017 when I got hit with GBS, that really took its toll at 51. I try to stay young at heart, and still work, but some days are harder than others. LOL specially sleeping lol but at least I wake up to pee, that is better than peeing and then waking up lol

I dont eat any sugar as part of my regular diet. Well a few weeks ago I had a craving for some sweets, so my wife made me some brownies and I ate 2 or 3 of them that night. I woke up the next morning feeling like I had the flu, or a hang over. Nauseous, headache, it was insane.

That’s an easy fix. Just incorporate more sugar into your diet, preferably large amounts at every meal and that flu, nausea, and headache will go away as your body adapts. You’re welcome 😂

What’s wild to me, when I hit 40 and everyone on the periphery outside of my family and friends, would start to tell me how I was going to feel. When I tell them I feel better at 40 than I did at 30 they’ll always insist the wheels are about to fall off- they NEVER ask how I feel better a decade closer to the grave.

I get this all the time. I am 41 and in so much better shape and generally feel better than any other point in my life. I did a half Iron man at 39 and could not have dreamed of doing that any time in my early 30s or 20s.

Its not without some thought, what I eat, how and when I work out, how I sleep etc is all important. But its totally doable to feel amazing in your 40s.

What sucks is all my friends are out of shape so what we can do together is becoming more and more limited. None of them are hiking up a mountain, carrying a canoe on a long portage, or doing anything physical. Most struggle to come along following my setter around the grouse woods for a few hours. Its gotten to where I do nearly everything solo as I keep getting more fit and my friends age out of just about everything.

Need to find some new local hunting and adventure buddies.
