The Rokslide Stock Traders Thread

All my pot stocks are up today too. APHA, EDXC, CBWTF. Average of around 10% up today. Overall still down as a whole on them, but not a ton. Weird day of trading today...

I looked at Aurora this morning pre-market at $8-ish. I should have bought in, but I wanted to make some other buys, so I held off. I see now it’s $11+....... Hurts to know you missed out on a quick $1500+ take.

GWPH up similarly. I actually haven't sold a single stock since I opened my account in mid March, but that will probably be one of the first.

Sad to see my GILD continuing to suck wind even after all this talk of Remdesivir being an effective medication...

Can anyone smarter than me look at LYB and give me their opinion. Solid P/E and Dividend. Way off its 52 week high. Seems to always make money. Also any thoughts on JPM? Its dang near its 52 week low. Another solid company that always seems to make money. I already own a few of both so I'm not going to hold anyone responsible if they go down:), more just looking for some guys with more experience to let me know if I'm looking at the right things.

Got some VLO earlier in the week, and then when they announced today more industry bad news, I bailed and made a little change. Better than going into the weekend at a loss.

First I’ll say that I have no idea what it will do, the market is crazy and the only prediction I’ll make is that it may Crash and burn, might shoot way up.

If you look back at the chart it’s bottomed twice at $44 since the panic wore off, that’s a good sign that it “shouldn’t” go under that, but panic sells, bad news etc is not predictable.

Their earnings were only $1.55 per share, so not sure if they will pay $1.05 dividend long at that tight of a margin, if that is part of the deal for you. Looking back at the chart they seem to drop around 50% a lot, then rebound in the next 6 months. I think I’ll watch this one for a good drop and get in a few long shares at some point after a good drop. Now may be a good time, if you are patient and willing to go red and still hold for 6 months if necessary. I lean towards a long swing on this one, get in on a good drop and wait for the rebound.

I’m pretty cautious so I’d say maybe a nibble here and there, not all at once.

This is a pretty classic bullish chart showing steady incline, but a lot of them look this way after the panic selling in March so that’s a tough call right now.

Next thing you feel good enough about, to buy 800 shares, let me know.
I feel pretty good about PCG and I have a fairly large stake in that stock at the moment. With all the uncertainty and a few past events in this thread, I am fairly cautious with my predictions. Seems some guys think every pick is a winner because someone said it on Rokslide. Full disclosure, I am down on UAL and GE at the moment.

I really like the utilities in the southwest coming out of COVID with their highest earnings season about upon us.

LYB is solid with a good yield. Just out of favor now, so, you may have to wait for some recovery for it to do well, but, it is also pretty cheap. I'm waiting for JPM to go to around $80 or so then sell when it gets to around 90 as that seems to be it's range. Seems like it's getting to the lower end of range, so, hopefully, more upside potential than downside risk? Good luck.

Do after hour buys not happen until the market actually opens??

Depends on your platform. That’s why I use 2. Robinhood starts later and ends earlier. Webull starts at 4am-8pm.

Also if the volume is down or price is off a bit may not go through

I took no profits in the last (almost) two weeks. And that's unusual as I try to average at least $300 a day profit aside from my long holdings. I guess I feel too much upside with most of my buy in prices to even bother with the guessing game. The up, the down.....
When the market finally rallies it will be very sweet, but it could be awhile, or it could be next Wednesday. Who really knows.

The CDEV/Waterbridge deal is a no go. Disappointing, but I'm okay with that, the price of oil at $30 today is the biggest thing for these shale concerns.
American gas and oil use and the opening of rigs is the crucial part and all of these should grow, some exponentially.
WB will pay CDEV $10 mil for bailing.

Looks like CDEV expects to receive $10 mil out of escrow due to the deal not going through. $10mil and still controllong the assets is a win in my book. I don’t foresee a huge impact on stock prices due to this news. Could be wrong though. Regardless my long term hold stands strong.

I bought some Walmart today for a hopeful run up into earnings. I almost never hold through earnings but may through this one.
