See a lot of guys trading OXY the past couple weeks. Was curious if anyone is buying and holding until prices bounce back? Was looking at picking some up and holding on to it until they get a solid rebound. Curious what others thought.

I am holding OXY at $14.50, it may be stupid, but I flipped it from $9 up to $16 something and made money, took a position at $14.50 and just trying not to look at it today. I had been using stop losses, but I pulled it off yesterday and decided I’m just going to ride it out versus losing money on the way down...again, probably not smart, but I did it and now I’m committed

And I should add on OXY, I got burned every time selling and then it making a rally the next day, so I am gambling on what happens tomorrow and in the near term as well. I wouldn't buy in now, wait and see what happens.

Big fan of TDOC. I bought it around $70. Lately it seems to move inversely with the DOW which makes sense...fear/virtual medicine, etc. I think they will be acquired eventually

+1 for TDOC. I got in just under $60. Sold some of it in after hours trading yesterday when it popped and made a nice profit. I'm holding the rest for now. They have earnings at the end of the month, and I could see it popping again.

Yes. I am one of the few on here it seems who is not a day trader. I don't care if it goes to $5 or $50 tomorrow....I won't do a thing in either case. Well, actually if it went to $5 I would definitely buy more ;)

For those of you looking to get some OXY, or buy more, are you buying now, or hoping it drops more?

I sold mine at 18, thinking about jumping back in today.

Some stocks are just too up and down to ignore for profits.
Example: yesterday I had two stocks pop for a $600 gain. I let them ride, didn't sell. Today they are back down below to pre-gain levels. That $600 came and went *poof.*

I'm transitioning to long term overall, but I can't see watching substantial gains come and go without some take. And lets face it, some guys here can afford to forego any profit taking in the short term, others need to. Times are lean.

Depends on what you are trying to do. How long do you intend to hold it?

When it gets back to $80 what difference does it make if you bought it at $12 or $18.....

I hear you. Everybody is playing a different game. Nothing wrong with making money

I don’t know how old you are, but I still feel safe saying that oil/fossil fuel will rule supreme in your/our lifetime.

I'm with Trevor. I'm 49 now and I remember back in the 70s and 80s being told at school we were going to run out of oil. We were also told at that time within a few years the U.S. would convert to the metric system. Neither has happened. Now my kids are being told the same thing in school.

Fossil fuels are not going away anytime soon. I bought some XOM during this downturn and will likely add some more at a later date.

Probably more for the long haul. I'm not opposed to selling some for short term gains, but I'm more inclined to hang on for the long haul I think.

I should probably just buy before it goes up...that's always a smart mentality in this very predictable market right?!

TIme to do some shopping boys.

Picked up substantial shares of CDEV at .29... Hoping this sucker is trading at 3.00 this year.
This is a solid debt-free company obviously in a volatile industry right now. Worth a peak.

Interesting, I took a gamble and picked up 1000 shares. Mostly out of boredom. Ive done this before with other cheap stocks and ended up a bagholder, whats one more haha

Careful with ultra-cheap penny stocks. If the price is too low for a sustained period, the major markets will delist the stock, then its only traded via OTC markets. This will more than likely make the volume drop down dramatically and you'll be left holding the bag on a worthless position.

Its a gamble for sure. Im fully prepared to lose all 300 bucks. I do think they will be wary to send a legit company to pink sheets in the current situation. I think bankruptcy is more likely.

Yikes. This stock is a lotto ticket. If you win, I hope you win big and call me out for being skeptical 😉

Steady drops over 1 yr, pretty bad long term sign considering the energy market's been generally trading sideways through the past 12mo.

Today sucks but I'm still up considerably ( 12.59%) from when I got in.
Seems pretty decent to me.

Like I said, total newbie. I was in for TDOC at 130, OXY at 11 Some of you picked up these at a good time! I got an etrade account right as things flopped and the initial money transfer took longer than I thought...Day late and a dollar short...but I think I'm doing okay, even with the loss today. I only have 1 stock that isn't a fair bit higher than when I got in. I don't feel like I can dump anything right now...maybe its just me, probably is. Could've made a bunch on TSLA yesterday... But I'm holding. I'll wait it out...for now. That is the one stock I have that I think is a wild card, could swing way up or down. I don't want to make any decisions I'll regret, more than I already do ..haha. The stock market never interested me because of what seemed to be the emotional side of the trading/valuation.
Well I'm in now, figured it was a chance of a lifetime to jump on the wagon.

Yep, absolutely true.

This company has good bones but like most OIL/LPG sector is a victim of Covid, Russia/Saudi among other things.
I won't invest in WLL, CHK etc. for obvious reason, but I'm hopeful this one will come through, It it does, it will be worth the risk. Volume is huge, it's on the radar.

Yeah. With fidelity, you have to call them, listen to a few disclaimers and they will unlock it on your account. I'm glad I sold pre market today. It's down 2$ a share after open from my sell price.

Thank you very much for that insight!
I called and got it unlocked today. I’ve been wondering about that for a couple weeks.
