I see some pictures where there isn't social distancing!

While not about getting out during the shut in, we made biscuits and gravy with my bear chorizo. I'm getting low on the chorizo, spring bear can't come soon enough. Shout out to @JJBuck for the tip on getting bear chorizo!

Haha. I'm reading this thread loving it all. Good to see dads being dads, kids soaking up so much quality time, and work still getting done. My boys and I have cleaned every gun in the house, cut and split a bunch of firewood, caught a bunch of fish, and killed about a dozen rockchucks. My 7 year old daughter shot her first 'chuck this morning with a nasty, scary, dangerous AR-15....or is it AR-14??? Getting the smoker up to temp right now for a batch of smoked rainbows, then it'll be out to shoot more 'chucks while the fish smokes. Good times, hope everyone gets to maximize their time while this lasts.

Life is normal here on the ranch. Cows don't watch CNN so they don't realize the world is a mess. Rolling out bales every morning, checking on new born calves. Repairing the fences on summer pastures. Servicing haying equipment, which will be needed shortly after turkey season closes. Watching turkeys strut out the back door. Living the life.
Only draw back for us is that my wife works at a local bank. They are still open but the lobby is closed so her exposure is limited.
As I said earlier, life is normal here on the ranch.

I finished up the roof on my shed today and decided to do a little shooting at our home range. A nice quiet afternoon with some mediocre shooting.

Things are semi-normal here. Kids out of school for the rest of the year. Wife is a school teacher so she is out to, sort of. She was working on a degree while teaching what we all called Home Ec growing up, so she should be able to crank it out before next school year.

I'm an engineer at a power plant so have the ability to work at home and be on site as needed. Getting the backyard whipped into shape a little, things that had been neglected for a while as well as getting the shop more organized. Enough of the boring stuff...

Been tying jigs and restocking swimbaits for slabs (crappie) come May. My home waters are closed off until mid April and hopefully it doesn't go beyond that. Also been looking at some range finding binos that will be used this year. Almost 100% confident we will have at least one oryx tag in the house. Kids will have cow elk tags regardless because of the youth encouragment program here in NM (unless one one them pulls the oryx tag).

I too lost my job in the patch but in 2016 and went to the power industry. We paid everything off then so are literally debt free, except for a small truck payment only to keep a good credit rating. Plenty of food in the pantry, long term storage as well as all the other essentials so we are not wanting at the moment except to get out and do some springtime crappie, early June smallmouth on the cicada hatch with a flyrod, then some scouting for my daughter's bighorn sheep tag - bad thing is she has to draw it first. ; ^ )

Have to keep telling myself to keep the faith and that everything happens for a reason. One blaring one right now is that families are spending more time together and that keeps 'ol scratch out of our lives all the better.

I work in the patch also. It’s slow but I still worked 6 days this week. I got out Friday and shot a few rifles. Stayed up late last night and loaded 95 rounds to fire form. After work today we went out for a hike and ran across a few sheds.

@robby denning can we send in the lower jaw on that buck and get it aged? It’s missing the front teeth.

Hey man. Thanks for thinking of me. You can send it but the chance of getting an A rating is low and they won’t give our money back no matter what the rating. I had one guy send one in this year they didn’t have those and he got a rating but it was a B rating. So that means I could be off a year.

Gotcha. I am curious because in this area I don’t see many bigger than that buck. Another hunter said it’s the genetics. I personally thought it was an age issue from hunting pressure. It wasn’t a hard winter so I was surprised when the boys found it.

We haven’t been doing much. Utah hasn’t really shut much down. My wife just finished phase two of pharmacy tech school and starts phase three in two weeks.

For my day job I manage a couple federal grants that work with schools. That’s been a little slow and I am working from home. A couple nights a week I work at a sporting goods store. I haven’t had a lot of time to do much. Been working on my pickup trying to get some of its problems fixed so it ready to go for trail cameras and scouting.

I am essential industry. We sold our big place last year and downsized. We are basically debt free. The wife has a tax business, and with the delay in filing, she has been able to quit working 80hr weeks. I am really glad I set up my home office same as my work office. This old tech challenged guy is really getting good at this new world of skype and webex.

I live next to a school. Since I have been home, I have hit the track a couple days a week for 4 miles before the sun even came up. It is decent, but not near the workout of having some elevation.

We are empty nesters, so our life hasn't changed much except worrying about the boys. Easy to keep tabs. The oldest one works with me, and the youngest one works for the wife.

You guys with no snow and mountains are making me jealous! We’re still iced in, snowed in, and it’s been rainy. Best I’ve been doing is working on the boat and making Michigan gold.

They are not the same buck the velvet typical is just such a pretty buck I thought I would add for fun. The plan for the fall is to find one like that for my wife this fall!

The pic below is the 2 bucks the sheds my daughters are holding came off of. Only got the right off the front buck and the left off the back buck.
