It’s been years since I bought an RA with an AICS mg well.

So was it just a Gen 1 thing?

I haven’t bought a Gen2 with AICS.
All my Gen 2’s have been AR15 mags.

I will say, it shouldn’t be a Gen 1 thing.
It makes putting the pin in release lever easy.
Should be standard equipment for an AICS magwell equipped rifle.
