I could only hope to one day be brave enough to make those choices.Yours?
Maybe he got a 10% off code on the scope and used the savings to add the rifle to the package?I could only hope to one day be brave enough to make those choices.
No, came into my buddy's shop for a barrel swap (22 arc).

BLJ, thanks for your quick answer.
I think this will be a good way to go. Kathy doesn't really care to shoot her Savage 11 Trophy Hunter in 308 any more, but she's comfortable shooting my bolt 223 Winchester 70 Lightweight with a laminated stock, so it's time to get her a deer rifle she's more comfortable shooting. I think the 6mm ARC would be a good way to go. Light recoiling and can still be effective to beyond the distances we have to shoot where we hunt.
Thanks again, BLJ
I got another Ruger American Gen 2 since I last posted. Picked up a 22 Creedmoor in the Go Wild Camo version from Scheels.

I put a Maven RS1.2 Mil in UM Premier rings on it and went out and shot some groups.

First five down the pipe, top center. Bore site was good left to right but high. Sub 1" group from a freshly cleaned new barrel. Factory Hornady 80 ELDX @ 3039 fps over 5 shots.

Shots 6 to 10 on the barrel with the factory 80 ELDM ammo. Again, sub MOA on 5 shots with a velocity on 5 shots of 3116 fps. I slipped my scope rings to this load and shot 10 at steel at distance. Easy impacts and hits sounded more like the 6.5 Creedmoor than the 22 ARC. I'll recheck both loads for speed and accuracy after I get 100 rounds down the pipe.
Got activated for a damage hunt and will be using this rifle on some whitetail does September 4th and 5th. We (me, wife, daughter, and son) will be using the 223 with 77tmk, 22 ARC with 75 ELDM, and 22 Creedmoor with 80 ELDM. All shots will be sub 500 yards and most with be 200 to 350. Should be a good time getting down with the 22's.

Last I saw the RA 22 Creed was $600 at Sportsmanās.Hold tight. Thereās now a factory 22CM offering that is sub $1k? Good to know and hopeful more follow with other ammo manufacturing following suite
Also available and same price ($599) at Scheels and I was able to pick it up in store as they are stocking them.Last I saw the RA 22 Creed was $600 at Sportsmanās.
Whatās interesting is the 22CM is not listed on Rugers website as an offering or a special distributor option. This leads me to believe Ruger is testing the waters to determine demand for that chambering or they are obscenely clueless about marketing. More likely my public school education let me down and I need to see the optometrist again. Also available and same price ($599) at Scheels and I was able to pick it up in store as they are stocking them.

IMO no.Anyone making a proper field stock for these at present?

It is a Sports South exclusive. They have not shown special editions or distributors exclusive guns on the website for the Gen 2 rifles. The issue with pushing the 22 Creedmoor hard right now is the bottleneck on the factory Hornady ammo. Factory Hornady ammo for the 22 Creedmoor has to go through a Horizon Firearms dealer as the ammo is a Horizon Firearms exclusive (stated on the Hornady website) similar to how the 6mm GT ammo was a GA Precision exclusive when it first came out.Whatās interesting is the 22CM is not listed on Rugers website as an offering or a special distributor option. Strikes me that what is needed is a "rokstok" and pmag or ICAR or AICS compatible bottom metal. Stocks (and purchase price creep) really holding back this platform.IMO no.
It was mentioned in the @Stockys thread from quite a few people about a light VG stock and nothing has come of it. For any magazine platform.
Iāve been modifying my own. Far from a good solution, but better than factory for me.
Iāve also considered a Boydās Quest. Iām sure they would be plenty ridged, accept AR mags and cheap enough to modify if need be.
