Tried 4350 with 75 Eldm started at 40 went to 42. 2.630 with my chamber was 30k off lands. 41.5 shot good with no stuff bolt lift. 42 was lil stiff got 3333 fps 22inch Tikka factory barrel suppressed. Also tried RL23 started at 41 worked to 43. Bolt was still lifting easy was around 3210. So I worked up some more last night to try with RL23 .30-43gr .25-43.2gr, .20-43.4, .15-43.6. Case looks pretty full. 50rnds down barrel so far.

42 grains is making 2950 for the couple shots I tested for pressure/fit/feeding. Loaded 10 to take to the range. This will likely be my load for WI gun deer season.

Ok - so I have posted a couple times - going back and forth on what type 22 creedmoor setup I want to put together. Yesterday was looking at a full build with a custom action vs a Tikka rechamber.

However, got a quote today for a 1/8" 22-250 Tikka Stainless for $150 less than the rifle at sportsmans and that includes free shipping. Karl at Kampfeld Customs is $230 to set the barrel back (so factory stamp hides under the stock line) rechamber for 22 creed, and engrave it on the barrel. Basically for $950ish - could have a brand new tikka 22 creedmoor.

Should I just pull the trigger on this and call it a day????

It is a low cost option to get a 22 creedmoor, I say do it.

Worst case the barrel isn’t what you want and you have a new one screwed on.

That's what I did. I'm a lefty so I couldn't get as good of a deal. Mines stainless 22-250 1 in 8 twist. I had it rechambered. It is so fun to shoot. It will definitely be in the woods this deer season. Almost hate to put my thermal on it in January lol. If you do it an keep factory stock I Reccomend the Tikka wider grip an 5 round mag.

Not bad for 2 shot load development. 42 grains of h4831 with the 77 tmk over 9 shots averaged 2995 fps.

Just goes to show BC is king, this rifle is still a 4mph rifle.

77 going 3k in 16” of barrel is kind of neat.

Ready to shoot some stuff in WI at sub 300 yds.

Shot a bull elk tuesday morning. 88gr ELD-m, 2860 at the muzzle. 489 yards, broadside. Shot him twice, he managed turned himself around, I considered sending a third round, but he collapsed right as I decided he didn't need it. He made it maybe 3 yards from where he stood when I shot, and that was mostly gravity. Onside shoulder a little bloodshot, but not too bad. Offside shoulder was clean, never found any fragments or jacket. Didn't dig too deep, he died on a south face in the sun, so I was in a bit of a hurry.

Tikka stainless with a Preferred prefit, in a Stockys VG, NF Atacr 4-16 Mil C. Tripod set up just high enough to clear the brush.

The tikka has been ordered....going to keep it stock except for the rechamber and 5 round magazines and the vertical grip insert. Will top it with a Zeiss V4 4-16X50 on a pic base and rings tbd.

If I decide to put a suppressor on it down the road, will probably cut the barrel back to 20" and thread it for a direct thread at that time.

You won't regret it. I didn't think to take pictures but was happy with how mine shot trying different powders an charge weights. I'd like to meter it. Me an a friend that has one swear they sound quieter than our 22-250s suppressed

Have had my 8" Tikka 22-250 punched 22CM and shot multiple others, done same. All were/are exceptional with 88's.

The Tikka bane remains in all mags, that aren't CTR or AICS.................
